About the Item
Exceptional large modern art acrylic painting by listed artist Jules Granowitter, circa 1950/1960. This impressive canvas features an allover abstract festival of color and exuberant brush stroke work. Hard to find large pieces from the MCM period, this example is in very good, original, untouched condition, as it has been in storage for decades. Jules Granowitter was born in Brooklyn NY in 1930, he attended Cooper Union, and worked professionally as an illustrator, cartoonist, and painter in NYC, unfortunately we do not have much more information about him or his oeuvre. Signed by the artist, at lower right corner.
We purchased a collection of his paintings which had been in storage ( Cirker's, see label ) in NYC, and will be listing them at Barbarella Home on 1st Dibs.
