About the Item

Impressive pair of oil on canvas theatre decors/murals depicting a bourgeois interior at two different periods. The grisaille represents the interior in the 19th century, whereas the furniture in the second one, in colour, suggests that the scene is set in the 1930s'-40s. Both are signed on the bottom right-hand corner "Atelier de Vaëre". Measurements provided below are for the grisaille. The one in colour measures 275 x 260 centimeters. Can be sold separately.
