About the Item
A stunning piece of original, vintage art. Despite its' seemingly Scandinavian influence, this oil painting on hardboard is actually French. It is dated 1978 and signed by artist, R. Neiss, in the lower right corner (see photo). It depicts a harbor on the French Atlantic coast, most likely in Brittany, with colorful fishing boats moored at the dock. The artist has created a calm and visually pleasing seascape by only using beautiful, soft pastel colors.
The painting comes in its' original frame: a custom made, lightweight wood frame. The frame is painted gray, beige and white and it really enhances the beauty of the painting itself.
In very good vintage condition. The painting has no major scratches or other flaws. The wood frame shows minor signs of wear consistent with age (see photos). Ready to be display and enjoyed.
