About the Item
"My Family" a watercolor by Helen A. Haselton. She was active in Chicago and the Hartford area in Connecticut, born in 1888 and died in Woodstock Valley, CT in 1989. She was an accomplished artist, illustrator and writer and wrote and illustrated "A Memory Book of My School Days" in 1920. She also illustrated the paper dolls for "Dolly Blossom and Her Wardrobe," by Will Pente, which had seven pages of clothing, two dolls and a trunk to assemble that held all the clothing. This picture is a very personal and provocative watercolor portrait of her family with haunting images of each. The picture was purchased from the family in Hartford, CT. Measures: Image 11.5" H x 17.25" W.

Helen Haselton
