About the Item
A large, colorful and dazzling kaleidoscopic Oil on board of a Carnival scene. Impressionist and modern artist who was noted for New York scenes.
Colorful oil on board depicting an amusement park, more than likely Coney Island, with various rides including a ferris wheel, merry-go-round, figures, balloons and a clown figure at the bottom.
Presented in a distressed scalloped paint & gesso wood frame with white fluted fillet.
Signed lower right.
Dimensions:
Board - 25" x 30"
Frame - 36 1/2" L, 31 1/2" H and 2 1/2" D
Condition: Please see detail photos. Various signs of age include the loss of scallop to upper center of wood frame, old wear, flaking and aging to paint finish on frame, losses to gesso on frame. Wear to back corners of board visible on verso. Moderate separation on left side of frame. The aforementioned is for accuracy as the presentation is, as stated, dazzling.
