About the Item
Masterfully painted and full of light and color, this oil painting depicting a 1928 Packard automobile, the height of Art Deco style and elegance toward the end of the Depression, is set on the edge of a park with a monumental bronze sculpture behind, and a poplar-and-villa lined landscape in the distance. The Packard itself is stunningly finished in bronze and wine colors and is sleekness itself. The overall setting is impressionistic and beautifully painted. This painting is not signed, but was clearly commissioned for a Packard advertisement or poster, perhaps for sales in Italy or France. (Dimensions include frame).
