About the Item

This is an antique painting from the Bisgart Collection of 20th-century Art Deco painters.
Signed upper left Humbert-Vignot, French genre painter of portraits and still life.
Humbert-Vignot Léonie (1879-1960) was born in Lyon (Rhone).
She was a student of Alexandre Bonnardel et Édouard Toudouze at the "Beaux-Arts" school in Lyon.
He exhibited at the "Salon des Artistes de Lyon" from 1896 and took his first medal in 1901. In 1908 he will receive the first prize.
He also exhibited in Paris at the "Salon des Artistes Français" from 1905 where he received honors and many other medals.
One of his works is preserved in the Digne Museum in France. The painting and frame are restored.
The frame and oil painting are professionally and carefully restored.
