About the Item

Enrico Ortalani (1883-1972) was an Italian painter who trained at The Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. Many of his paintings were of the Umbrian and Roman countryside. This painting portrays a typical Umbrian Villa shielded in the woods. The painting exquisitely captures the Italian light. Ortalani's paintings have been purchased by the royal family of Italy, by the Ministry of Education, by the Municipality of Rome and appear in public galleries.  We have three paintings of his found in a private home in Amelia, Umbria. Please note, due to the historical relevance of this piece, it will require special export paperwork which may take up to 6 weeks.
