About the Item

Venetian oil on canvas, "Campo S. Giovanni & Paolo Monumento Colleoni", circa 1910. Charming square where the "Monumento Colleoni" by Vercocchio is located. The building, "La Scuola di S MarCo", (now Ospdale Civile ) , sets to the right of the Monument. This is a N/W view of the Campo. The work is unsigned but of the post-impressionist period. It is on the original canvas. There is a small pin hole in the upper left corner. This can be patched but I chose to leave the work original as well as the old varnish. The stretcher is good and the canvas strong. The silver gilt frame is later but creates a good contrast to the colors. A good size and very decorative.
