About the Item
This collectible painting is by Mary Blair, legendary animator for Walt Disney Studios, is of a pair of dancing rabbits in coat tails. The unframed painting has a scroll-like piece at the top and bottom and the paint has cracked and distressed in some places. Created in the late l930s, the painting is an early example of her painting style and use of color.
As a fine art watercolorist and Disney conceptual artist for nearly two decades, Blair is accredited for developing color styling and animation techniques still in use today. She contributed to "Cinderella", "Alice in Wonderland" and "Peter Pan" as well as the creation of the 'It's a Small World" attraction. Blair remains an American artistic treasure.
