William Stilson (American, 1934 - 2012) - mid-century New York City portrait painting - painted in gouache on canvas (applied to Masonite panel) - original restored Italian gold gilt Neo-classical style 'leaf' composite frame and linen matte with gold fillet liner - painting and linen matte with fillet preserved under glass panel - 'Winter' notation to the back of the Masonite panel - painting signed and dated lower right - painting signed again lower left (signatures not visible within the framing) - U.S.A. - circa 1964.
Excellent vintage condition - all original - minor loss and gilding transfer to the edges of the painting (not noticeable in the frame) - artwork in original, untouched condition - restored original frame - signs of age and use - ready to display.
Painting size - 8" (20.3 cm.) wide x 10" (25.5 cm.) high.
Frame size/dimensions - medium - 13 7/8" (35.3 cm.) wide x 15 3/4" (40.2 cm.) high x 1 1/2" (3.8 cm.) deep.
