Ensemble de trois affiches éditées par PLM (Paris – Lyon – Mediterranée) et TMB (Tour du Mont Blanc) pour promouvoir le tourisme vers le Mont-Blanc, la plus haute montagne d’Europe. Elle ont été réalisées par Géo Dorival en 1928.
Sur chacune d’elle, une voie ferroviaire traverse une forêt de sapins et amène directement le regard vers le Col du Mont-Blanc en toile de fond.
Chaque affiche représente un moment de la journée : la journée (montagne blanche, ciel bleu clair), le crépuscule (montagne rose, ciel violet) et la nuit (montagne verte et ciel etoilé).
Geo Dorival, de son vrai nom Justin Marie Georges Dorival est un affichiste, dessinateur et artiste peintre français. Il réalise de nombreuses affiches et documents publicitaires pour les compagnies de chemin de fer. Il travaille au service des plus grandes stations balnéaires de l’Océan et de la Côte d’Azur, des villes d’eaux connues et des destinations de montagne à la mode.
