English antique etching print with black wood and golden metal frame, 1863
Etching with frame. The print depicts the scientist James Watt in his study near the fireplace, accompanied by a dog and two female figures. In the center, under the composition is the inscription "James Watt 1736-1819", also present are the names and places of publication. The rectangular frame is in black wood enriched on the front by a metal plate carved with golden floral decorations.
Published in 1863 by Françoise Augouste Ledoux simultaneously in London and Paris.
Fair condition, with signs of aging, halos and stains on the paper and missing material on the frame.
