About the Item

An engraving titled "Sandwich" by the British artist William Henry Bartlett, engraved by E. Challis in 1841. It depicts a view of the town of Sandwich in Kent, which is one of the Cinque Ports in the United Kingdom. Bartlett was known for his detailed and picturesque illustrations of topography, many of which were rendered into steel engravings. William Henry Bartlett was an accomplished artist and illustrator, born in Kentish Town, London in 1809.
