About the Item

German Paul Wunderlich (1927-2010) Les Soeurs (B. 220) lithograph, the image of the two sisters charged with eroticism and also playful in its surrealistic tone. The forms of the two standing women face each other, in mirror fashion, each encapsulated in a contrasting oviform oval. Printed on a solid lime green ground, the figure on the left is in a grey-blue egg form, the woman's partly revealed breast peaking between the red geometric dress with blue contrasting stripe. The torn, irregular hem just barely reveals a red and white striped garter. The figure on the right is in a brown egg form, her blue geometric dres with red contrasting stripe. Even the women's hair colors are slightly different. Signed and inscribed E. A. 19 1/2" x 25 ½ image size. Framed in a custom 24-karat gold leaf and walnut gallery frame with archival silk matting.
