Rare anti-Catholic caricature, made by a representative of the 'Aprilbeweging', i.e. the Protestant and conservative movement against the reestablishment of the episcopal hierarchy in the Netherlands in 1853.

He also created numerous lithographies, illustrations and prints which were published in many newspapers and magazines, such as La Caricature (1830–1843) or Le Figaro.
