Beautiful Ottoman Gold Embroidered Blanket
About the Item
This Blanket is an original Ottoman tapestry with beautiful gold weavings and an intricate crochet trim which is approximately 2.5cm wide.
The design features floral motives and arabic scripture and most remarkably the ?ugrawat (modern spelling: tugra), the symbol specific to the ottoman sultan - comparable to the handwritten signature and seal of western monarchs - reproduced throughout the empire as an imperial signum right in the center of the piece.
It is in good condition in regard to its age. The textile has no holes or thinning spots.
