About the Item

This is a rare antique silk Indian textile woven during the end of the 19th century that measures 164 x 56 CM in size. The design of this rug is based on an early 18th century repeating vase design. In this specific example, there are alternating rows of two different types of blossoming vase motifs. One is more of a tree with blossoming flowers and the other is of a large blossoming flower. This piece has been preserved on a backing to prevent any damaged and has been retained in excellent condition with only one cobbled repair on the right-hand side. This textile is a highly collectible piece that is treasured by both collectors and designers alike for its aesthetic beauty of historical value.
