Framed 16th Century Italian Ivory Figure of Christ

About the Item

16th century Italian ivory figure of Christ mounted against green felt fabric and framed in a coordinating cream frame. This piece was once originally part of a crucifix. The broken figure of Christ has been mounted onto the green backing and framed with a coordinating cream frame. The date of manufacture reflects when the figure of Christ was mounted and framed and the period shows that the Italian figure of Christ is originally 16th century. Together, the mounted and framed figure of Christ creates a figurative, contemporary sculptural relief of historic significance.
