18th Century Italian Figure of Christ on Crystal with Mica with Baroque Pearls

About the Item

18th century Italian, distressed, hand carved and painted figure of Christ on crystal with mica and tourmaline with natural forming baroque pearl. The figure of Christ came off of a crucifix that has now been displaced. The figure of Christ has found its resting place on a coordinating crystal infused with mica and tourmaline and decorated with naturally forming baroque pearls. Both components fit together as if they were made for one another. The corpus Christi can be removed if desired and each is a decorative piece in its own right. This piece is currently exhibiting in the Museo de' Medici in Florence, Italy as part of The Crucifix Collection. The Museo de' Medici is located in the monumental Rotonda Brunelleschi which is one of the most extraordinary buildings in Florence. In addition to preserving the history of the Medici dynasty, the museum is also committed to exhibiting precious collections of works of art, historical relics, original documents, faithful reconstructions and multimedia installations.
