Bertil Vallien Unique and Monumental Wall Sculpture in Glass and Wood, 1966
Located in Skanninge, SE
A very important early work by Bertil Vallien b. 1938.
Unique and monumental wall sculpture, hand painted and contour sawn wood.
Made in Sweden 1966. One of a kind!
The sculpture is depicting fishes in the water. It was commissioned by an optician in 1966.
That is why the eyes are made of oval glass mirrors. They are also hiding the holes where
you screw the sculpture to the wall.
The sculpture would be great in a fish restaurant or in an indoor pool area.
It will certainly make a statement wherever it will hang!
A photograph depicting the artist in front of the sculpture is included (see image)!
Fully signed and dated 1966 (see image).
The sculpture is in 3 parts. The upper part is in one piece. The lower part is in 2 pieces.
There are no problems hanging this on the wall. It is heavy but not that heavy.
Measurements:
The upper part, Lenght 226cm, height 68cm, 7cm deep.
The lower part, Lenght 245cm, height 75cm, 7cm deep.
As mounted as in the pictures: length 304cm, height 120cm.
Total length if one put these pieces after one another, circa 475cm.
You can put this sculpture on the wall with different combinations and variations.
In 2017 Flint Institute of Arts in Michigan bought the "One million Dollar Boat".
They paid one million dollars for the mixed media sculpture "Passage" made by Bertil Vallien.

Renaissance Stained Glass Panel, 'Seven Men of Good Reputation'
Located in West Palm Beach, FL
Renaissance-stained glass panel, 'Seven Men of Good Reputation'
French or Flemish, 17th century or older
A Renaissance stained glass panel, "Seven Men of Good Reputation," originating from France or Flanders, dates back to the 17th century or earlier. This exquisite 12.5-inch square window features seven vivid medallion portraits, believed to depict the Seven Deacons: Stephen, Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas.
Each portrait is intricately stained, enameled, and painted, capturing the rich colors and detailed expressions typical of Renaissance artistry. The Seven Deacons were pivotal figures in the early Christian church, chosen to minister to the community of believers in Jerusalem, allowing the Apostles to focus on prayer and the ministry of the word.
This stained glass panel not only represents significant religious history but also showcases the exceptional craftsmanship of the period. Its vibrant imagery and historical context make it a rare and valuable piece for collectors and enthusiasts of Renaissance art and Christian history.
Whether displayed in a home, church, or museum, this historically significant...

Susan Tibbles Life Sized Art Assemblage “Master Lock” Framed Sculpture Distresse
By Susan Tibbles
Located in Topeka, KS
Magnificent Susan Tibbles life sized 3-diminsional art assemblage titled “Master Lock” framed sculpture in purposefully distressed display case or shadow box. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, the bottom left corner of frame was broken and a new piece was glued in by our experienced staff. Frame is purposefully distressed. Please see photos, zoom in for details, and see long description as they are part of the condition report. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, 1989.
The definition of a woman? SHE is complicated… SHE is strong… when she isn’t feeling weak. SHE is happy… when she isn’t feeling sad. SHE can do anything placed in front of her… if she can get out of bed. SHE is bold and daring… but sometimes she feels simple. SHE is independent… but sometimes she needs you. She doesn’t want to “blend in” … but she’s judged if she “stands out.” SHE is too old to wear this and too young to wear that. She is too fat; she is too thin… She is your best friend… but SHE is her own worst enemy. She is aged longing for her youth… she is young longing for adulthood. SHE has been labeled as mother, grandmother, wife, girlfriend, partner, daughter, sister… but WHO is SHE to herself?? If SHE is strong willed… she is a b**ch. If SHE is sexy or seductive… she is a tramp. If SHE is reserved… she is a prude. She doesn’t care… but she really cares TOO much! If she could see herself as others do, she would see that SHE is a creation of perfection. Exactly who she is supposed to be. Unique. Individual. Irreplaceable. Definition of a woman? SHE is a masterpiece… but SHE is complicated.
We have an incredible life-sized art assemblage created by renowned designer Susan Tibbles for your viewing pleasure! This piece is titled “Master Lock,” and was custom made and hand crafted by Susan Tibbles in 1989. It is composed of a masterfully sculpted and crafted 3-diminsional woman’s silver negligee, thigh high fish net stockings with lock details on the thigh straps, black spiked stiletto heels, and a silver beaded & spiked neck collar with a ring attached to a full-length chain draping from the collar to a hook at the top of the case. The chain hangs down to the base of the case where it gathers between the spiked heels. SASSY!! The sculpture stands in front of a black leather-like back drop inside a monumental black and white display case...

American Studio Craft Wall Mirror by Alan S. Kushner
Located in Hanover, MA
Custom woodwork decorative wall mirror created by artist Alan S. Kushner of Philadelphia circa 1990.
Signed "AK" carved on back of bottom triangle.
Overall dimensions: 72 inches high by 46 inches wide by 5 inches deep.
Framed mirror dimensions: 46 inches high by 24 inches wide by 5 inches deep.
Please note that the artist's intention was for the mirror to be displayed with the zebra wood arrow on the bottom pointing downward and the 'fishtail' on top. We know this because on the backside of the mirror are two wedge cut blocks for mounting in a corresponding wall bracket or Z clip. For the purposes of our photography it was not possible to stand the mirror on the point so all our photos show it upside down.
Alan Kushner (1949-2008) was a self-taught woodworker and furniture maker who exhibited his designs primarily in and around Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland during the 1980's and 1990's.
In 1991 he participated in the summer exhibition "In Our Circle" at the James Michener...

18th Century Parisian Giltwood Barometer Thermometer
Located in Dallas, TX
This lovely giltwood barometer and thermometer was hand-carved during the Louis XVI period in Paris, France. During the late 1700’s, barometers were typically only owned by wealthy families. Over time, barometers began to be viewed as works of art and could be found in middle class homes throughout Europe.
The highly detailed crown of our apparatus depicts a footed vase bursting with a floral display. The garland trails down in an arch shape until it reaches an angular platform adorned with molding and vertical fluting. The flowered swag continues behind the platform, transitioning into a pair of gadrooned leaves. Each gadrooned leaf terminates in a husked cornucopia overflowing with laurel leaves. A large circular barometer dial is positioned in between the cornucopias.
Under the barometer is a looping lambrequin that borders the top half of the thermometer. A pair of gadrooned leaves runs behind and through the lambrequin, flanking the lower half of the thermometer. A fluted base beneath the thermometer sits in a gadrooned cup.
The detail of the carvings on this late 18th century Parisian...

Anne Andersson Sisal Fiber Snow Leopard 2006
Located in Palm Springs, CA
A wonderful wall sculpture by the noted artist Anne Andersson. It is signed and dated 2006 #4 on the back. These sculptures are made of Sisal Fiber from an Agave and meticulously hand painted. The eyes are hand blown glass. the bodies are sculpted from clay.
A brief bio from the artist's website follows:
Anne Andersson's artwork serves as an homage to our planet’s charismatic and rare wild animals. Inspired by the majesty and beauty of exotic wildlife, and motivated by an urge to preserve them, Anne’s astonishingly realistic life-size sculptures capture the experience of seeing these animals up close—without exploiting them. Her work provides a humane alternative to trophy hunting and taxidermy.
