Sculptural canvas with a 17th century Italian giltwood fragment and 24k gold leaf. The sculpted canvas is molded together with gesso, gilding wax, marble paste, green earth, Italian dark ochre, and ash on board. The original 17th century Italian fragment is molded into the sculptural canvas to create a dynamic relief sculpture. It is painted with 24 karat gold leaf. The piece was created by the artist Elena Rousseau for Interi. Together all the elements create a romantic, elegant, and contemporary yet classic work of old and new. This elegant relief sculpture can adorn any wall or grace any space.
