The sculpted canvas is molded together with gesso, gilding wax, marble paste, green earth, Italian dark ochre, and ash on board. The original 17th century Italian fragment is molded into the sculptural canvas to create a dynamic relief sculpture. It is painted with 24 karat gold leaf.
