Sculptural canvas with an 18th century Italian giltwood fragment, raw sapphires, and 24k gold leaf.
The sculpted canvas is molded together with gesso, marble paste, gilding wax, oils, green earth, and ash on board. The original 18th century giltwood Italian fragment is molded into the sculptural canvas to create a dynamic relief sculpture. It is painted with 24 karat gold leaf and adorned with raw sapphires.
The piece was created by the artist Elena Rousseau for Interi. Together all the elements create a romantic, elegant, and contemporary yet classic work of old and new. This elegant relief sculpture can adorn any wall or grace any space.
