September 7, 2025The eyes might be the windows to the soul, but 1stDibs favorites folders are windows to the heart. Or at least to what makes it race. The gathering of objects in these folders reveals more about our sense of style and taste than our own homes or closets might, if only because they often contain far more objects than we ever would or could acquire.
Some folders hold the purely practical — numerous dining-chair options to go with a specific table, or lighting fixtures for a particular spot in the house. But some of the things we add through the simple act of clicking on a heart are pure fantasy.
Although these highly personal, curated collections of cherished objects can reveal so much about an individual, we rarely, if ever, get to see what others have saved. So, on the occasion of 1stDibs’ 25th anniversary, we decided to approach 25 of the site’s most stylish fans — from celebrities and tastemakers to designers and dealers — and ask each of them to show us their favorite object in their favorites folder. Some had no problem choosing, while others didn’t want to narrow it down. Read on to see what made the cut.
These interviews have been condensed and edited for clarity.

I’ve been searching 1stDibs since well before I was a designer. So, my favorites have spanned years and years and years. Now, I have to pick one, just one. You’re trying to torture me, 1stDibs. Because I do have lots, because 1stDibs really finds the most amazing dealers in the world. But okay, let’s do it. I have a piece that I’ve been coveting for a while, a 1960s daybed by Guillerme et Chambron. It is absolutely spectacular, and it’s a rare one. They’re most famous for their chairs, but this daybed is a piece that is timeless and elegant — and everyone knows I love a good daybed. The woodwork is spectacular. It’s been really taken care of, and I dream of owning this piece one day. Merci, 1stDibs.

This is a hard question, y’all. There are so many things in my 1stDibs favorites folder that I have been coveting for quite some time. But there’s definitely one item that stands out. I’m completely obsessed with this Fendi sequined bag. I know it may sound a little silly, like how could you not have found a sequined Fendi bag before now? But it’s definitely an art, searching for vintage and finding the one that speaks to you. And this one really speaks to me. It’s this soft champagne color that I’m really gravitating toward.

Our studio is having a real marquetry moment, if you will. We’re loving marquetry because it blends the old-world sensibility of an antique — that craftsmanship and charm — with a sexiness and chicness. My favorite piece right now is a beautiful Swedish antique [by Erik] Mattsson. It’s this walnut marquetry cabinet with the most incredible detailing in the front. We first came across it when we were sourcing for a gentlemen’s study. Quite traditionally, those spaces are super heavy, a bit more masculine energy, as you would expect. We saw this piece and thought it would be a really cool juxtaposition with the more robust elements in the room.
Melissa Biggs Bradley, Founder of Indagare
What is in my favorites folder on 1stDibs right now is a pair of French garden urns from the nineteenth century by Alfred Corneau. I love looking for garden benches and urns and bird baths on 1stDibs, and when I saw these, I fell in love with them because they have these great griffin handles and they just transport me to French gardens, French parks. They make me think of Paris. Griffins symbolize vigilance and protection, and I can’t think of anything better than a little bit of France in my garden. A bit of magic.
Drew McGukin, Interior Designer
I am loving this Murano-glass ceiling lamp. It’s a contemporary fixture. One of the things I think is super interesting is that it almost has this camo impact to it — these Murano leaves are different colors, the coppery gold. I just think it’s super sharp, super chic, leans a little forward, looks a little back.

Simon Doonan, Fashion Commentator
Jonathan Adler: We are 1stDibs crazy. For moi, lurking at the top of my favorites folder is the Stan Bitters totem sculpture, which, like my husband, Simon, is rugged and gutsy and poetic and lyrical and all the great things. And it would look amazing in the corner of our living room. I want, I want, I want.
Simon Doonan: And I, in my folder, have one thing. It’s a photograph of Liberace noshing. And I love it because he’s eating with such gusto that you think, “Good, you earned it, hammering away at that piano for hours.” Bon appétit, Liberace.
Cliff Fong, Interior Designer and Dealer
My favorite item on 1stDibs right now is a Line Vautrin Gerbera mirror. I just love this piece. The first time I saw it, I just knew it was special. It’s a color that I think most people don’t commonly associate with Line Vautrin’s work: red. It’s also a beautiful example of her metalwork, as well as something that fits in really nicely within a modern, a classic or a brutalist aesthetic.
Jenny Walton, Fashion Influencer and Vogue Columnist
This is an impossible question because I love everything in my 1stDibs cart. But the strange things I’ve been looking into lately are these weird old Victorian man-in-the-moon carved-moonstone rings. They’re this gorgeous moonstone but then a creepy little face carved into it, and I’m obsessed with them. They’re just so darling.
Ken Fulk, Interior Designer and Dealer
I can’t believe it’s been 25 years. I was here in the beginning, and I can still get lost for hours and hours just dreaming of all the things that I would love to own. Right now, probably my favorite thing that I currently have in our 1stDibs shop, which I’m honored to have, is a 1950s Jacques Adnet bed. It is a full-size bed, which I think is perfect for a library or an office. The perfect place to take an afternoon nap. Incredibly chic. Style it as a daybed in any room. I love his work. It’s very simple and pure. It’s harder and harder to find pieces by him, much less an actual bed. And so, I bought it years ago and have held onto it and have finally agreed to let it find a new home. So maybe it can be with you, unless I decide to keep it.
Tan France, Fashion Influencer, Queer Eye Star
My current obsession is an Hermès 1950s HAC [Haut à Courroies]. It’s a duffel/weekender, and it is chef’s-kiss good. I currently have two of the smaller HACs — one in chocolate brown, one in black — but I don’t have a large weekender style. And this is just big and gorgeous. It’s in a mid-brown, with kind of a reddish tint, and it has got beautiful brass hardware, which is the hardware I always go for with a HAC. I could see myself wearing this with any look — dressed up, dressed down. It’s just the perfect bag, and I want it desperately.
Shawn Henderson, Interior Designer
This is heartbreaking. I just went to look in my folder, and there was this set of three 1970s Brazilian safari chairs in leather. But I’m seeing that they’re sold. I don’t know why I didn’t buy these, because I have one in my house here that I bought at auction a long time ago. It’s weird and super cool, and I should have just bought them, because I would love to have had a set of them. Heartbreaking.
My favorite thing that I have is . . . Why do you have to make me choose? Looking at this makes me realize how much I just want to keep buying furniture. I’m going to go with this camp wood furniture theme. It’s this amazing wingback chair. It currently has a plaid fabric on it that I would definitely recover. I happen to have this exact chair in my inventory right now. I’m supposed to be selling it, but I love it too much, and I don’t want to let it go. So I am kind of flirting with the idea of buying another one so I have a pair of them, because two chairs is always better than one.

What I’m loving is this Roy Lichtenstein print called Two Paintings, from 1984. It’s really graphic and modern and feels interesting and dynamic. I’m a big fan of Lichtenstein, but I think this one’s quite different. It’s two paintings in one, in a way. I love that the colors are deep and dark and almost a bit more mythical, as opposed to being really Pop. It’s going to look gorgeous in this house. I just love it so much.
Zoe Feldman, Interior Designer
I’m a massive 1stdibs fan. Right now, I’m loving this Josef Frank–inspired Swedish cabinet. I think it’s circa 1950s. It’s this beautiful blend of femininity and modernness, and what I love about it is that it can really stand out on its own in a room. It brings a lot of personality to a space. I could see it in a bedroom, in a living room as a bar cabinet, in an entry. It’s amazing.
Isaac Mizrahi, Fashion Designer
Can I say two things I want? For some reason I adore paste. Chanel paste. I love the Gripoix, darling. And there is this big Chanel pin — it’s like the crossed Cs in this kind of gold mess. And then it has this big gold tassel. Darling, it’s a brooch, and I want it so badly. But then, there’s also a gold-plated Camellia, like a gold-plated gardenia, like a beautiful flower. So, those are two things I want. But what’s more useful for me is the gold-plated camellia. I think so. I think it’s the gold-plated camellia. That’s what I want.
Molly Kidd, Interior Designer
What item am I coveting in my 1stDibs favorite folder? It’s a light fixture, a stunning [Poul] Henningsen copper-and-opal-glass pendant. The balance of materials, the sculptural shape, the way it diffuses light — it’s timeless yet quietly dramatic. The first time I saw it on 1stDibs, I gasped a little bit and knew I needed to use it for one of my projects. It has artful restraint in the best way. It’s the kind of piece that elevates every space around it without shouting for attention. I’m picturing it in my small dining nook, or even over a tub. I actually have it sourced for an upcoming project.
Bill Rau, Owner of M.S. Rau
We are a proud seller on 1stDibs. I want to mention a piece I absolutely love that’s actually not ours — a René Lalique dragonfly pendant. René Lalique was one of three jewelers of the Belle Époque that were completely special, the other two being Carl Fabergé and Louis Comfort Tiffany. All three of these jewelers did not believe that the stone made the jewelry, but the beauty of the jewelry made the jewelry. Everything they made was a work of art, as this pendant is.
Another item that I covet on 1stDibs that we do not own is a Norman Rockwell painting of the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs went through an incredible hundred and eight years without winning the pennant. And this painting shows the Cubs fans and the batboy and all of their misery, obviously loving the game and hating the fact that their team is so bad. As a longtime New Orleans Saints football fan, I completely understand their misery. And when you look at the painting, Norman Rockwell nailed it.
Darryl Carter, Interior Designer
One of my favorite artists is Sylvia Schuster, who, unsurprisingly, is on 1stDibs. I’ve collected her works for years. A testament to how much I like them: I have five in my own home.
Gianluca Longo, Style Director of World of Interiors
Saturday morning is my favorite time to log in and surf and search on 1stDibs. I like 1stDibs because there are always interesting things. They make me dream — some surprises, some things that I haven’t seen for ages or some new discoveries. And at the moment, I’m obsessed with a set of eight dining chairs designed by Afra & Tobia Scarpa in 1976 for Maxalto. Their shapes are so beautiful. They’re petite but kind of imposing at the same time. They’re very elegant in their dynamic curves. They’re walnut — the perfect wood — with cognac-and-black-leather seats. They are incredibly elegant.
Marion Fasel, Jewelry Historian and Editor
I remember vividly when 1stDibs launched. It was very exciting and very different to see all these dealers and all this jewelry in one place, and I have been using the site consistently ever since. I am currently obsessed with Victorian enamel snake bracelets, and I have two in my folder. I’ve always been enchanted by this design and by snakes in general. There’s also a pair of antique Etruscan-style granulated-gold pendant earrings that I found when I was doing a story on Miuccia Prada’s jewelry style. I love the gold. It’s just different in nineteenth-century jewelry. The granulation, the detailed work. I find them magical, and [unlike the snakes] they’re within my price range.
Adair Curtis, Interior Designer
Picking one piece right now, it would have to be a 1960s louvered walnut-wood custom room divider [by Vladimir Kagan]. That, I think, is the sickest thing I’ve ever seen — such a statement piece, and I can’t wait to have it.
Robert Stilin, Interior Designer and Dealer
I’m really kind of loving and excited about a pair of vintage Studio BBPR lounge chairs that we have on our 1stDibs storefront. They’re from the nineteen fifties, and they have beautiful lines and gorgeous craftsmanship. They’re done in an alpaca fabric from Loro Piana, and they’re super comfy and just really great-looking chairs.
I’m also really loving a bookcase from Morentz, in Amsterdam. They have this beautiful Carlo Scarpa for Bernini metal-and-walnut library shelf, model number 795. You could build a whole library around it. I would install it on one wall and then build custom bookcases floor to ceiling on the other walls in the room, and it would be a focal point and stand out from the built-ins. I think it would look stunning.
Nate Berkus, Interior Designer
Jeremiah and I are working on our farmhouse in Portugal, and I really wanted bedside tables that had a history, an age, character to them. This pair of Italian neoclassical bedside tables was sourced on 1stDibs here in New York and will be delivered to Portugal in a month. They’re our bedroom side tables. So, I’ll wake up and set my coffee down on that every morning. Those were an obsession until five minutes ago [when we bought them], just so you know.
Marlies Verhoeven, Cofounder of the Cultivist
What is in my favorites folder right now? I think my favorite, favorite is a watch from Van Cleef & Arpels and Piaget. It’s the absolute coolest thing. It has a lapis lazuli background that is really bright and gorgeous. It has hammered gold and an asymmetrical shape. I think it’s from the seventies — it doesn’t say, but I’m pretty sure — and it’s just very different. I love jewelry that not everyone else has and has a unique perspective, and this definitely has that.
Eli Dweck, Interior Designer
There is one thing I have saved that is one of my absolute favorites. It is a two-hundred-year-old Swedish neoclassical porphyry footed bowl. I enjoy its rarity and its perfect design. I would use it in the dining room and fill it with some grapes. I would use it in the living room and fill it with some lady’s slipper orchids. I would even use it casually by the front door to catch my keys and whatnot. It’s a perfect accessory, and I would love it forever.
