Victorian 9k, Sterling Silver, and Ivory Fly Stud Earrings
About the Item
A delightful set of stud earrings from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Painted silver flies rest atop ivory disks. The handcrafted flies are slightly different sizes, and the larger of the two has painted red eyes. The flies have detailed wing striations and minuscule leg detail, their 3-dimensional form looking nearly realistic! A 9k yellow gold post secures the earrings, and the earrings feature complementary friction backs. This unique motif would be a wonderful addition to any Victorian collection!
Measurements: The earrings measure slightly more than 9/32" in diameter. The flies measure 7/32" by 5/32" and 9/32" by 7/32".
Condition: The earrings are in very good antique condition. The flies show minor signs of wear but are in overall very condition. The flies are securely attached to the intact ivory disks. The gold posts are secure and in good working condition.
