About the Item
This is a marked Renoir Copper and White Enamel necklace, from the 1950s. Adjustable 14" to 18", with Shepherds hook closure. 17 rounded white enamel points, with a three pronged copper motif every other, capped off by a delicate copper ball on the end of the copper chain.
Handmade by artisans, this was popular style in that time period. The Matisse Renoir company was copied by others but no one did like the original. These have stood the test of time.
Notably, this is similar in style to one made by Dior in the same time period that is much more expensive. So if it is the style that you are interested in, this is an especially good value.
One day I was perusing an antique market and I saw something similar in one of the gorgeous jewelry cases. Being a big fan of the look of copper, I had to find out what they were. Unbeknownst to me at the time, I ended up finding two of them on one of my adventures.

Six large copper chain-like halo squares feature a grassy green/ kelly arched tile with inner hollow. Minor scratch/ chip. Looks so pretty in person and one of my personal favorites because the green is so uncommon to find.
The contrast of the green with the copper hue is quite stunning as well as the contrasting textures in the undulating chain look with the smooth arched copper tile.
