One for you old ravers, this Givenchy 'G' 1970s whistle pendant is a new addition to our re-engineered range of vintage jewellery.
The 1979 'G' Givenchy whistle is a working whistle and a fave piece of mine. In fact, my very first piece of vintage jewellery that inspired Jagged Metal was a mint condition red version of this on the original snake chain which I will keep forever!
This one had been separated from its original chain and had been made into a keyring. So we added a chunky gold plated chain to give it some oomf.
Givenchy are known for producing timelessly chic jewellery throughout the 70s and 80s which are now highly sought after and collectable. Founded by Hubert de Givenchy in 1952, Audrey Hepburn, was Givenchy's greatest muse and wore the label in some her most famous roles, including Breakfast at Tiffany's. By the 1970s, on the advice of Cristóbal Balenciaga, Givenchy arrived on New York’s Fifth Avenue in 1976, diversifying into accessories and shoes.

D'Orlan Jewelery Ltd. was founded in Toronto, Canada by Maurice Bradden in 1957. Bradden had previously been trained by French jeweler Marcel Boucher who established the Marcel Boucher & Cie Company in New York in 1937.
After moving to Toronto, Mr. Bradden started his own business producing his own brands of jewelry as well as costume jewelry exclusively for the Boucher Company. Marcel Boucher died in 1966.
In 1979 Marcel Boucher's business was sold to D'Orlan Industries of Toronto, Canada. The workmanship and detailing of jewelry produced from Boucher de D'Orlan molds is of high quality.
In 1984, D'Orlan Jewelers Ltd., formed a partnership with Nina Ricci Companies of Paris, France (known worldwide in the fashion industry for French designs and French luxury goods, including perfumes).
Together, the companies have developed a top-tier plating process that is highly regarded to include a 22-carat triple-plated finish over a pewter base metal that ensures color consistency. This process has also been incorporated into Nina Ricci jewelry.
D'Orlan and Nina Ricci costume and precious jewelry is sold worldwide in Nina Ricci stores, department stores and high-end boutiques.
