THIS IS A STUNNING ANTIQUE RENE LALIQUE ART NOUVEAU LYS OPALESCENT GLASS PENDANT NECKLACE WITH SILK CORD IN ITS ORIGINAL POUCH. The French Art Nouveau opalescent art glass pendant, Lys, designed by Rene Lalique (French, 1860-1945), dates to the 1920s. The pendant is triangular shaped, with lilies in relief. The pendant has the molded Lalique mark on the side. The pendant is model: 1657. The gorgeous Lalique art glass has the radiant blue hue to the opalescent glass that Lalique is so famous for. The pendant is beautiful on both sides. The necklace comes with its original pouch. The necklace is a treasure of French design. The glass pendant is 2 inches (52mm) tall and 1 1/2 inches (38mm) wide. The silk Cord is 23" long (wearable length). Marked: : Lalique. Weight: : 27.6 grams

The necklace is a museum quality jewel. The magnificent carved Blue Sodalite Scarab is a monumental Scarab of 30mm by 20mm by 12mm deep. The modified triangular form, composed of chased 18K gold, centers two stalks of seaweed among pale green plique-à-jour enamel seawater, symmetrically bordered by rampant lions joined at the top at the tips of their tufted tails, the reverse counter enameled, suspending a natural saltwater pear-shape pear with rose tones. A work of subtle homage to Brittany and its wild coastline, this flowing form harmoniously combines motifs evoking the marine flora and history of this noble-spirited region of France so beloved of late 19th century artists.
