This Art Deco Platinum Bypass Ring features 2 focal European Pear cut Natural Aquamarines totaling 1.41 carats, each securely set in four doubled prongs. Accented with a total of 8 Channel set Colorless Baguettes totaling 0.45 carats & 19 Round Single cuts totaling 0.55 carats - Colorless, Nearly Flawless, ranking an E-F Color & VVS1-VVS2 Clarity. The Bypass design in jewelry dates back to the Victorian era and was perfected in the Art Deco era as far as durability and symmetry. Bypass rings were also favored by many prominent figures, namely Jacqueline Kennedy, although this particular ring is a bit of a larger scale than hers. Most were made in Yellow Gold up until the 1950s when goldsmiths started using White Gold. Furthermore, less than 20% were done in Platinum, like this one – At this time in the 1940s, following WWII, very few pieces were constructed in Platinum: the purest white, noble metal revealing true Gem colors, in this case the extremely bright White Diamonds & the crystal clear sky Blue Aquamarines.
