About the Item

This one-of-a-kind ring by Eytan Brandes features his "girder" design, usually a pendant, but here used as the dramatic 14 karat white gold centerpiece for a bold cocktail ring. The 18 karat yellow gold shanks are actually repurposed from a gimmicky 1990's ring (not made by Eytan, of course). This ring's big selling point was that you could swap out the center bezel with different gemstones -- an idea whose time never came, frankly, since the mountings were so clumsy they distracted the eye from the stones. Plus: who really wants to be able to wear different stones on the same shank? Is this an actual need that anyone has? The mind boggles. Anyway, having ditched the bezel swaparoo fittings, Eytan was left with these two beautifully made shanks, and thus an idea was born. The shanks are hinged to the girder on the fourth rungs from the top and bottom. You can actually lay (lie?) the ring flat and wear it as a pendant if you have a swivel clip! The diamonds are set in the third, sixth and eleventh rungs. They're 2.8mm princess cuts with a total weight of 0.33 carats. These are clean, bright and snappy stones; Eytan rates them G-H color and VS1-2 clarity. Rest assured they are earth-mined and untreated. This ring is a size 6, we may be able to resize for you, but please let us know your requirements in advance. The girder is 35mm long, which is 1-3/8", so it will reach or cover the knuckles of most fingers, but the double shank and thin proportions of the girder make it as comfortable to wear as any shorter, single shank ring. The shanks are both stamped "750" for 18 karat gold, but there are no maker's marks. The girder is not stamped (because there's no place to safely stamp it!) but we'll provide an appraisal so that the metal content is on record. WEIGHTS & MEASUREMENTS: Ring weight: 7.3 grams 18K yellow gold weight: 4.8 grams 14K white gold weight: 2.5 grams Diamond weight: 0.33 carats Girder height: 35mm (1.38") Girder width & depth: 3.9mm (0.15") Width of each shank: 1.8mm Thickness of each shank (at center back): 1.4mm

GIA Certified 3.55 Carat Radiant Cut Pale Yellow Diamond Halo Ring
Located in Sherman Oaks, CA
Eytan Brandes made the gorgeous mounting that perfectly showcases this clean, natural and untreated light yellow diamond. The prongs and frame are in 18 karat yellow gold to accentuate the stone's pale yellow hue; the strong yellow of the frame also creates interesting transitional contrast with the bright white of the halo diamonds. The undergirding and band are in brushed satin platinum -- muting the shine helps delineate the individual stones and their bright white sparkle. The overall effect is a graceful white-to-yellow spectrum -- the considered product of a jeweler's homage to the beautiful pale hue of this gorgeous stone. The popularity of "fancy yellow" diamonds has been accompanied by the inevitable proliferation of artificial enhancements -- especially irradiation and the use of 24 karat gold backings -- to juke otherwise light yellow diamonds into an unnatural shade most often associated with police tape and taxicabs. We think a pale natural yellow diamond is beautiful as-is. The stone comes with a GIA certificate dated August 18, 2018 (#6193551278) verifying its color (O-P), clarity (VS2) and size (3.55 carats). All of the smaller stones are fine quality, round brilliant cuts. The pavé halo is beautifully set, with the stones of the innermost ring facing UP and those in the outer ring facing OUT, creating the impression that the diamonds roll...
