Opened 30 Carats Morganite Cabochon Ring
About the Item
I worked these two morganite cabochons (in total 30.5 carats) in a very clean way that reduce the focus to the gems with its beautiful inclusions. If you look at the sides of the setting, you can see that the surface of the 18K whitegold setting is in line with the gem. There is no frame outside the shape of the morganites. To reach this goal, I cut a deep notch around the bottom lines of the gems and worked the settings as an inlay underneath the surface of the gems. Oftentimes, it needs quite some effort to reach the simplest apperance but I love that pure and reduced geometry. The gems are sitting between your fingers like large drops. When you wear this ring, it is just about the gems, nothing distracting, pure and simple. Nevertheless, as the weight of this ring is 16.4 Grams 18K plus the weight of the morganites, you can feel the value of this ring in your hands. Everything is worked smooth and rounded so that it can be worn very causal. If you like your jewelry clean and simple with no distructing elements and if you like to feel the weight of the piece in your hands, this might be a ring for you.
