Art Nouveau Jadeite Jade Ring Certified Untreated

About the Item

A plump oval double cabochon of bright apple green jadeite has been artfully set into a beautifully hand-fabricated 14K rose gold ring from just after the turn of the century (circa 1910). The detailing on this ring is sublime, and the jade retains its pre-industrial revolution polish. Prior to the 1950s, jade was polished without the use of electricity or modern polishing compounds and the polish is different than it is today. This stone is luminous, highly translucent and features a soft, polish that generates almost no reflections; it's all just glow. The double cabochon of natural Burmese jadeite jade measures 17.11mm x 10.01mm x 6.74mm and the overall face of the ring measures 19.81mm north to south and 19.38mm west to east as measured from the widest point of the shoulders. It rises 7.52mm from the surface of the finger but because the smooth stone is bezel-set and there are no prongs, this ring won't snag on sweaters or get caught on the hem of your pocket. The ring has clearly been cherished because it is in excellent condition. The fine engraving work on both shoulders is still crisp and the ring shows little signs of wear. This magnificent and rare ring is currently a size 8 and can be resized by your local jeweler. It ships with a certificate from Stone Group Labs stating that the jade is untreated jadeite from Burma (Myanmar).

Jade & Pearl Ring Certified Untreated
Located in Southbury, CT
A large oval cabochon of translucent seafoam green jadeite jade is surrounded by 16 luminous natural pearls in this ever-stylish 14K white gold halo ring from the early 1950s. The jade stone is natural and untreated and displays a high degree of translucency. Which is why this jade ring looks spectacular whether it is in direct sunshine, or just barely illuminated by the waning light of a nearby window. The luminous jade stone changes its appearance throughout the day, as the light changes. The jade cabochon measures 14.5mm x 9.19mm Seafoam green was pointedly on-trend in the 1950s when this ring was hand-fabricated. The pearls surrounding the jade are at least partially drilled —possibly they are drilled all the way through; I can't tell because of how they are set in the mounting. At least one and probably all of the pearls are natural, un-cultured saltwater pearls. They are older than the ring itself. It's not unusual to encounter repurposed jewelry...

Jade Ring GIA Certified Untreated Purple Jadeite, Size 10 ½
Located in Southbury, CT
This extraordinary ring was hand-carved from a single piece or natural and untreated GIA-Certified Burmese jadeite jade. The translucent stone is purple with a hint of light green. Click on the image of the GIA certificate and you will see that it does not describe the color as "lavender" but rather "purple." Making this ring all the more rare. The stone is luminous and absolutely gorgeous in all light; whether direct sunlight or the soft, low light of evening when the ring seems to glow from within. This is a large, substantial ring that was created for a size 10 ¼ - 10 ½ finger. Because the ring is thick, it's not possible to get a perfect reading on my ring mandrel, but if your finger is anywhere from a size 9 ½ (like mine) or a 10 ½, it should fit (though with a 9 ½ finger, the ring will have much more play). If your finger is smaller, your jeweler can create an insert liner from gold, silver or any metal you like and this will allow the ring to fit a much smaller finger -it just depends on how thick the liner is. This would be a project for you and your own local jeweler. In all my years of collecting jade, do you know how many untreated purple jade rings...
