Jade Ring with Diamonds Certified Untreated, Circa 1950s
About the Item
This vintage jade ring features an elongated 11.42mm x 6.55mm luscious green cabochon of translucent, certified-untreated jadeite. Three small but firey and bright near-colorless eye-clean diamonds are prong-set on either side of the jade and they provide just a little emphasis, almost like quotation marks for the jade cabochon.
This sleek and slender ring has Art Deco lines but was actually made in the Mid-Century (circa 1950s). At its widest, the ring measures just over 6mm and tapers to 3.39mm in the rear so it's rather like a wedding band in scale. It was hand-fabricated using thin gold wire which provides an overall sense of lightness to the ring. Yet it's quite sturdy.
The jade is a bright apple-green in daylight. But at night it depends in tone. It's a very elegant ring that is both understated and yet quite distinctive. The ring bears no maker's mark though it is marked for metal fineness (14K) and I believe it is of American origin.
The ring is currently a size 6 ¾ and could be resized by your local jeweler. It ships with a certificate from Stone Group Labs stating that the jade is Burmese jadeite and is untreated.
