About the Item

A George III period sterling silver creamer with floral repousse design to the body above a square base by Peter & Ann Bateman. To the centre of the creamer under the spout is a blank crest which is unusual for the Georgian period where the majority of people had their monogram or crest engraved on their silver. The piece has crisp hallmarks which date its manufacture to London in 1795, by brother and sister-in-law duo, Peter and Ann Bateman. The piece is in lovely condition for its age with only one small repair to the handle, commensurate with age and use. A beautiful example of a Georgian silver creamer by perhaps the most famous English silversmithing family. Marked - London hallmarks for 1795 & Peter & Ann Bateman hallmark Total weight of piece - 111 grams Measures - 14cm H (at handle)
