A very fine antique Russian salt cellar. By Sergey Shaposhnikov. With polychrome cloisonné enamel decoration throughout. Fully marked to the base. Simply a wonderful piece of Imperial Russian silver! Date: Late 19th Century / Early 20th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: The opening is slightly out of round. There are some minor losses to the enamel here and there (principally to the light blues most of which is at the rim). Otherwise, there is some light edge wear, some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Maker: OШ Sergey Shaposhnikov Marks: Marked to the base with an 84 zolotnik mark / OШ maker's mark for Shaposhnikov Fineness: Marked 84 zolotnik for .875 silver fineness.
