Prankster This colored pencil drawing ‘Woman in a Red Kimono – 10-11-22’ answers the most frequently asked question of late. I thought this prank of the red kimono title given to monochrome drawings would be appreciated. However, there were many that took the bait and mailed me with regard to the total absence of red. To satisfy their whim down I finally made this drawing. Hmm, of course satisfying my own inner urge to return to colored pencils may be the cause as well. I always wanted to make something similar to a previous drawing, called ‘Julia – 11-09-18’. That one exceeded my expectations and the divisionalist result I found very exciting. In this one I skipped the cubist styling though. Hatching up As you can see the drawing was done in hatched strokes,deviating from the execution of the Louise Brooks drawing. Before 2015 I exclusively worked with hatching until I discovered Bristol paper allowing me to study smooth gradients. There was this one thing on my wish list...

Jean-Pierre De Neef came to photography like a new convert to religion, convinced that it would lend meaning to his life. His path took him first to a photographic laboratory, having once been a Cibachrome expert, regularly visited by French art photographers who made their way to Brussels to consult him.
Well-versed in modern high performance techniques, nowadays Jean-Pierre De Neef produces art photos for several internationally known photographers whose works can be found in galleries and fairs the world over.
Twelve years ago Jean-Pierre De Neef’s encounter with François Bayle, art critic and curator of the works of various photographers for Brussels Art Edition, enabled him to pursue his passion in new fields. He was at the side of the Italian photographer Fabrizio La Torre (Rome 1921, Brussels 2014) in the last few years of his life, who entrusted him with detailed instructions for digitising his archives and explained to him the results he was seeking.
Jean-Pierre De Neef with his refined technical skills, and François Bayle with his creativity made up a team which was perfectly equipped to stage a number of well-received exhibitions of the work of Fabrizo La Torre - Museum of Ixelles (Brussels 2011), Principality of Monaco, an excellent Retrospective,(2014) and Bangkok (2019), which involved the presentation of the photos taken in Thailand between 1956 to 1961.

Biography: Kremer Petrus was born on May 9 in 1801 in Antwerp. He was a Belgian painter of genre scenes with religious and historic context, still lifes and portraits.
He studied at the Antwerp Academy of Fine Art, with master teachers and artists Guillaume Herreyns (1743 – 1827) and Mattheus van Bree (1773 – 1839). He perfected himself in Paris, travelled in 1838 Germany, France and Italy where he studied in the museums the pictures of the Dutch and Flemish masters.
He excelled in the representation of flowers, poultry and game. Some of his paintings were engraved by English engraver Joseph Brown (1809 – 1887) and other artists.
Belgian painter Gustaaf Wappers (1803 – 1874) painted his portrait.

Here is First Look at Canada, where Fabrizio La Torre stayed in November and December 1955, on a 6-month trip to North America which also took him to Canada and California. In Montreal, he could not resist the urge to travel aboard the "Canadian", the most modern and luxurious version of the Canadian Pacific train, inaugurated a few months earlier, on April 24, 1955. And even if the official story of this company claims that as from this inauguration the train was pulled by modern diesel locomotives, the heavy steam engines are still used, to the delight of the photographer who knows how to play with their big white plumes. In stations, on platforms, steam is everywhere; while the temperature is around - 30°C, steam is welcome to thaw the axles, often blocked by ice.
