This exceptional antique sterling silver cream jug has an baluster shaped form onto a domed pedestal and an octagonal shaped spreading foot. The body of this silver cream jug is embellished with embossed floral ornamentation accented with scrolling leaf designs and panels of scale textures. The decoration to the body incorporates a scroll bordered and features a vacant cartouche to one side. The lower portion of the body encompassed with the contemporary engraved inscription 'Presented by the South Devon Agricultural Society to Richard Anthony for the best managed Farm under 150 acres'. The rim of this 1830s cream jug is embellished with an applied alternating shell decorated border.
