Antique Navajo Rug, Dimond Design
Located in Evanston, IL
Embark on a journey into the past with our rare and captivating Antique Navajo Rug, a magnificent textile masterpiece that captures the essence of history and craftsmanship. Dating back to the 1920s-1930s, this rug is a testament to the skill and artistry of the Navajo people.
With its massive dimensions measuring 50 by 92 inches, this Navajo weaving is a true marvel. What sets it apart is its unique whitish tan background, a departure from the traditional grey, achieved through the use of natural-colored yarns. This distinctive choice adds an air of elegance and rarity to this already exceptional piece.
The Dimond design, closely related to Ganado, takes on its own identity through its iconic Ganado Red and the central focus on an elongated. The influence of oriental design is evident in the border design adorning the diamond, offering a cross-cultural connection that speaks to the rich tapestry of artistic influences.
A border of steeped red triangles adds an extra layer of depth and dimension, while full and half grey diamonds adorned with arrows and feathers at the corners weave stories of tradition and symbolism.
