Euroscape -2, Mixed Media on Canvas, Red, Blue by Contemporary Artist "In Stock"
By Asit Poddar
Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Asit Poddar - Euroscape - 2 - 8.5 x 8 inches (unframed size) Mixed Media on Canvas. Style : It is not enough to say that Asit Poddar is a multifaceted and greatly talented artist. Not only a gifted watercolorist, Poddar is also experienced and very well established in the fields of filmmaking, animation, photography, publishing, graphic designing and printmaking. For this artist, firsthand experience was a great source of inspiration. To look into the past - both recent and distant - is a creative process. It is this continuous flow of the past and the present that reflects richly in his paintings. In his works, you can see what he saw in his extensive travels to South Asian and European countries. You can feel the silence he felt on the mountains and revel in the world he sees through his mind's eye. His fluid lines and watercolor fills capture everything that Poddar takes in, from the vast expanse of high ominous peaks and deep dark gorges in black and white to the city of Varanasi and the river Ganges in vivid color. Human figures are missing in the paintings, but it seems like this is part of the artist's effort in his intent to leave a strong imprint in the mind of the viewer. About the Artist & his works : Education : 1980-82 : International Animation and Photography Institute, Japan 1972-77 : Government Art College, Kolkata. Selected Solo Exhibitions : 2011 : 'Mindscapes', Galerie Serafin, Vienna 2010 : 'Euroscapes', Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai 2008 : Kanishka Art Gallery, Kolkata 2007 : Educatorio della Provvidenza, Turin, Italy ; Cymroza Art Gallery, Mumbai & Chitrakoot Art Gallery, Kolkata. 2006 : Penzenau Castel, Mereno, Italy & Right Lines Art Gallery, Bangalore 2005 : Habiart, Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi & Hacienda Gallery, Mumbai 2004 : House of Lords, London, UK & Artworld, Chennai 2003 : Hacienda Art Gallery, Mumbai ; Castella Monte, Italy & Cymroza Art Gallery, Mumbai 2002 : Chitrakoot Art Gallery, Kolkata & Right Lines Art Gallery, Bangalore 2001 : Chitrakala Parisath, Bangalore ; Habitat Centre, Delhi & Artists Centre, Mumbai 2000 : Genesis Art Gallery, Kolkata 1999 : Gallerie La-Ruche, Tokyo, Japan 1997 : Kunjeon Art Gallery, South Korea 1996 : Koga Art Museum, Ibaraki, Japan & Kunjeon Art Gallery, South Korea 1994 : Birla Academy of Art and Culture, Kolkata. Untitled, Oil on Canvas by Contemporary Indian Artist "In Stock"
By Ashoke Mullick
Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Ashoke Mullick - Untitled - 30 x 36 inches (unframed size) Oil on Canvas. Style : Ashoke Mullick is considered one of the leading painters from the Bengal School of Art. Mullick combines a sense of satire with contemporary conditions. His paintings focus strongly on the ordinary man and the contradictions he faces. He uses colours like greens and blues to depict a largely urban India. His paintings also includes a strong focus on the ordinary person – more specifically womankind and the contradictions it faces. The artist likes to portray the contemporary age where people have lost the human touch and have become increasingly impersonal in their behaviour. As a painter, he touches on these facets where customs are not being followed and the link between now and the past is getting hazy. He's carved out a niche for himself with his juxtaposition of real and unreal imagery infusing his canvases with bold, vibrant imagination and certain energy, which is extremely appealing. Mullick has been painting for the last 30 years. About the Artist and his work : Born : 1957, Calcutta. Education : 1981 - Graduated with first class in fine arts 1981-82 - Awarded Cultural Scholarship from the Government of India under Bikash Bhattacharya...

Man Seated, Acrylic on Canvas, Red, Blue by Indian Artist "In Stock"
Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Sudhanshu Sutar - Untitled - 36 x 48 inches (unframed size) Acrylic on Canvas Inclusive of shipment in roll form. Style : Sudhanshu Sutar evokes imagery replete with nostalgia that he transforms effectively with his masterly hold over technique into a surrealistic leap into the future. Sudhansu is from the eastern Indian state of Orissa. In the words of eminent poet Kathleen Laine “The ‘real’ Orissa is what the imagination has created in her heritage of music, painting, architecture, poetry, all the crafts and arts together with her incomparable continuity in thought, and expression.” Whether it is Buddhism, Sculpture (The Sun Temple at Konark) or Odissi dance, Orissa has an impressionable image in Indian psyche and its history. Struggling to find gallery representation at the time, he made ends meet in the capital by painting large format billboards surrounding Delhi’s most expansive exhibition space at Pragati Maidan. He continued to do a variety of odd jobs and endured as an artist; finding some recognition through a gallery in Japan that helped him sustain a modest living in the capital for the last decade. His new work is representational of his roots from Orissa and the time he spent in Delhi. A marvelous combination of his rural psychological imagery and his complex survival in the big city reveals some visually salient images. About the Artist & his works : Born : 1969 in Orissa. Education : He graduated in Fine Arts from Utkal University, Orissa, 1993. Solo Exhibitions : 2012 : Art Heritage, Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi 2007 : Art Musings, Mumbai 2006 : ‘We want Your Life’, Gallery Alternatives, Gurgaon, Haryana 1999 : 'Fact Beyond Fact' exhibition at Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi 1996 : Sizoka Art Gallery, Japan 1991 : Pune University, Pune, Maharashtra Group Exhibitions : 2012 : ‘Angkor Wat : An Indian Perspective’, Gallery Art & Soul, Mumbai 2011 : ‘The Lost Sparrow’, presented by Gallery Threshold at Visual Art Gallery, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi & Gallery Sumukha, Chennai 2010 : ‘Indian (Sub) Way’, Vadehra Art Gallery, New Delhi ; Grosvenor Vadehra, London ; 1 x 1 Art Gallery, Dubai ; 'Next...', Amelia Johnson Contemporary, Hong Kong & 'Who Has Seen Gandhi?', presented by Tangerine Art...

My childhood my village are the reasons for this gangireddu. Dilip Chaudhury has been painting various scenes from everyday life of Calcutta & sometimes Banaras, in watercolour. From ancient monuments, streets & ghats, to a rickshaw puller in action, he is captured it all, beautifully. To somebody who has even a remote connection with Calcutta, he manages to bring a wave of nostalgia, as he symbolizes the character of the city of joy in his work. Like a true artist who has not been afraid of trying his hand at almost every subject and medium under the sun, Dilip has metamorphosed into a sought – after artist with a niche skill of creating above all, subjects of abundant beauty and character with a strong sense of perspective. A touch of red in his paintings symbolises optimism. Dilip has executed truly riveting canvasses, each of which has a unique story to narrate. They are not flat but have grandeur, movement, people and therefore, life infused into them. Sometimes Dilip uses his imagination to highlight the simple rickshaw puller of Kolkata. He creates stylistic compositions from unusual angles, which succeed in enthralling the viewer. About the Artist & his works : Born : Kolkata, West Bengal. The Yellow Paradox of Love, Acrylic on Canson Board by Indian Artist "In Stock"
By Pradiptaa Chakraborty
Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Pradiptaa Chakraborty - The Yellow Paradox of Love Acrylic on Canson Board, 5 x 6 inches, 2016 Will be shipped in a roll form. The current bunch of paintings mirrors this human Chinese Chequer , which moves about life as an unguided engine ramming into edifices indiscriminately. The paintings also depict the human scrambling for sensuality and gold – digging. The use of various colours, dark and light, in Pradiptta’s work symbolize the inner somberness and fakery. The interplay of mythical and supernatural machinery has been a significant form of artistic expression in the post – modern art arena and thus is interpreted as lending authenticity to the disarray and phantasmagoria in which man landed into. Style : Colours and semi realistic approach reflect the various images of life. Life is itself a kaleidoscope of fleeting images capturing the joys and disappointments of life. Life is a Juggler’s game whereby games are played out to veil the hidden instincts of human life. The conjurer on the road juggler his paraphernalia to entertain the spectators. Such a showmanship has become the grain of human existence. But now days it has turn to different parabola, all perspective are changing like some tsunami wave pass through of our modern civilization. Present impact of canvas is great drama going on. It is a arrested split second of mythical demonstration in modern apparel in post modern globe. Tries to decipher the mythological structures and traditions of Indian art, Characters from Indian mythico-religious tradition, Traditional commentary and background pigment give the proper optimistic pulsation which is very essential for painting’s vivacity. I want to establish extraordinary encounters, represented with the utmost precision which take place on the canvas and try to procure a wonderful hallucinatory quality in which the real and the imagined merge into one. About the Artist & his work : Born : 1979. Education : 2003 : BACHELOR OF FINE ARTS (B.F.A) in Graphics from Kala Bhavana, Vishva Bharati University, Shantiniketan, West Bengal. Five years Diploma in Painting From Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata West Bengal. Group Shows : 2013 : Group Show in Chandigarh Art...

Swimming Pool Fun, Acrylic on Canvas, Red, Blue, by Indian Artist "In Stock"
By Farhad Hussain
Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Farhad Hussain - Swimming Pool Fun - 15 x 15 inches (unframed size) Acrylic on Canvas, 2020 Inclusive of shipment in roll form. Style: Farhad Hussain's colourful work that includes drawings and watercolours besides paintings on canvas, features day to day visual experiences of middle-class urban India. He endows his narrative with iconography and personality through his figuration, their posturing, dress and the surrounding imagery. The drama of subtle complexities of human relationships and social environment are grounded with a sense of satire mixed with pathos. Farhad’s colours help enhance the brightness and aura of his paintings while he also partakes elements from traditions such as the formulaic textile patterns of Indian miniatures. His compositions are often set in a familiar drawing room or a social space, playing out with humour and sarcasm, the narrative psychologies of human life and encounters at various levels. This young artist who has also experimented with sculpture has already carved a niche and an instantly recognizable individualistic style befitting his aesthetics and concerns. Farhad has chosen to use tempera on cloth for his works, the media allowing him to achieve the desired vibrancy of colours. A slow build-up of images and spontaneous flow of colour while balancing colour and composition simultaneously follow structured formatting. This meticulous planning in the composition and layout is the beginning of a process from where onwards it is very spontaneous and intuitive. Another technique used throughout Farhad’s work is the method of applying the colour: dot-by-dot till the entire area is completely covered. Various elements from miniature paintings, Kalighat paintings, Japanese prints and images from mass media are scrutinized, transformed and transferred on to the surface through the artists own style of expression. About the Artist and his works : Born: 1975 in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Education : 2003: B.F.A. in painting from Kala Bhavan, Visva Bharati University, Shantiniketan, 2005: M.F.A. in painting from M.S. University, Baroda. Untitled, Mixed Media on Paper by Modern Indian Artist "In Stock"
By Manu Parekh
Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Manu Parekh - Untitled - 12 x 9 inches ( unframed size) mixed Media on Paper Inclusive of shipment in roll form. A lovely Mixed Media work in black, white and red color by Modern Indian Artist Manu Parekh who was very strongly influenced by old masters of Indian art, Ram Kinkar Baij and Rabindranath Tagore. He was the recipient of honors and awards like The Padma Shree from the Government of India. Style : Parekh’s early work explored the relationships between man and nature, as according to him, this was an energetic link that had to be celebrated. The artist also points out that, since then, contradictions have formed the basis of his artistic practice, no matter the subject or genre of his works. Polemics have always intrigued Manu Parekh – the energy of the organic form and the inherent sexuality within these forms are intangible elements in his works. His paintings provoke viewers to take notice of the world around them through the emotion, pain and anguish expressed in the subjects of his paintings. His colors and forms exude a volatile energy that can barely be contained within the confines of his canvas, and become an extension of the artist's personality. Vivid colours and prominent lines are an integral part of Parekh’s work and each exudes the energy that he attempts to capture. Parekh admits to being very strongly influenced by his surroundings. His stay in the city of Calcutta, for instance, drew him towards Santiniketan and the old masters of Indian art, Ram Kinkar Baij and Rabindranath Tagore. His appreciation of their work, more at a perceptual level than stylistic one, urged him to delve deeper into the thoughts that inform his own oeuvre. Banaras as a city came to play an integral role in Parekh’s work after his first visit there following his father’s death. This holy city of hope, of faith, of tourists offered him a vast number of contradictions in one location. Parekh also highlights his relationship with his wife Madhvi, who is a self taught artist, and his admiration for Picasso as key influences on his works. About the Artist and his work : Born : 1939 in Gujarat. Education : 1962 - Diploma in Drawing and Painting from the Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai. Solo Shows and Exhibitions : 2007 - ‘Banaras – Eternity Watches...
