Style : The multi-faceted Jatin Das has been a part of the Indian art scene for more than four decades, with his paintings, murals and sculptures. The human body holds an endless fascination for him and he pursues his quest for dynamic figures tirelessly, using a linear structure and quick brushwork. Man Seated, Acrylic on Canvas, Red, Blue by Indian Artist "In Stock"
Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Sudhanshu Sutar - Untitled - 36 x 48 inches (unframed size) Acrylic on Canvas Inclusive of shipment in roll form. Style : Sudhanshu Sutar evokes imagery replete with nostalgia that he transforms effectively with his masterly hold over technique into a surrealistic leap into the future. Sudhansu is from the eastern Indian state of Orissa. In the words of eminent poet Kathleen Laine “The ‘real’ Orissa is what the imagination has created in her heritage of music, painting, architecture, poetry, all the crafts and arts together with her incomparable continuity in thought, and expression.” Whether it is Buddhism, Sculpture (The Sun Temple at Konark) or Odissi dance, Orissa has an impressionable image in Indian psyche and its history. Struggling to find gallery representation at the time, he made ends meet in the capital by painting large format billboards surrounding Delhi’s most expansive exhibition space at Pragati Maidan. He continued to do a variety of odd jobs and endured as an artist; finding some recognition through a gallery in Japan that helped him sustain a modest living in the capital for the last decade. His new work is representational of his roots from Orissa and the time he spent in Delhi. A marvelous combination of his rural psychological imagery and his complex survival in the big city reveals some visually salient images. About the Artist & his works : Born : 1969 in Orissa. Education : He graduated in Fine Arts from Utkal University, Orissa, 1993. Solo Exhibitions : 2012 : Art Heritage, Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi 2007 : Art Musings, Mumbai 2006 : ‘We want Your Life’, Gallery Alternatives, Gurgaon, Haryana 1999 : 'Fact Beyond Fact' exhibition at Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi 1996 : Sizoka Art Gallery, Japan 1991 : Pune University, Pune, Maharashtra Group Exhibitions : 2012 : ‘Angkor Wat : An Indian Perspective’, Gallery Art & Soul, Mumbai 2011 : ‘The Lost Sparrow’, presented by Gallery Threshold at Visual Art Gallery, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi & Gallery Sumukha, Chennai 2010 : ‘Indian (Sub) Way’, Vadehra Art Gallery, New Delhi ; Grosvenor Vadehra, London ; 1 x 1 Art Gallery, Dubai ; 'Next...', Amelia Johnson Contemporary, Hong Kong & 'Who Has Seen Gandhi?', presented by Tangerine Art...

Longing Past IV : Wall Clock, Pink, Metalic color, Acrylic Painting "In Stock"
By Pradosh Swain
Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Pradosh Swain - Longing Past IV - 24 x 60 inches (unframed size) Acrylic on canvas Avail our Free Shipping all across the world in a roll form Style : Pradosh’s works can be described as psychic automatism in its pure state. His works are expressive and his palette vibrant and gorgeous. Nature is the frequent imagery that we see in his paintings. Sometimes his imagery is outlandish, perplexing and uncanny as it is meant to shake the viewer and make them to think beyond the theories which they have guarded themselves with. Lot of elements that we see in pradosh’s paintings also come from his childhood days in Odisha. His paintings often take us on a nostalgic ride where we see elements which we were so used to and have now learnt to live without. He uses common elements that we see in our day to day life to convey his feelings and thought which makes his works all the more interesting. His paintings leave the viewer perplexed at the first glance but a deeper look gives the insight into his thoughts that instigate him to create. Pradosh’s paintings have a surrealistic quality, the imagery is dreamy and mystical and rendering is such as if there is some kind of romance and magic happening amongst the colours in his palette. His paintings are the result of brilliant culminations of feelings and things that are between imagination and reality. They reflect his genuine concern about issues he feels for. He emphasizes on the power of imagination and believes that revelation could be found anywhere….on the streets and in everyday life. Through his paintings artist depicts the notion that how our high pace life is making all of us loose that contact from the nature or even with ourselves. About the Artist and his work : Born : 1972 , Orissa. Education : 1994 : Bachelor in Fine Arts from Utkal University. 1989 : Diploma in Photographic from College of Education and Technology, Bubaneswar 2005 : Certificate Course on Reprography from National archives of India, New Delhi. 2007 : Conservation of Art Objects from National Research Laboratory for Conservation of Cultural Property, Lucknow. Untitled, Tempera on Board by Modern Indian Artist Lalu Prasad Shaw "In Stock"
By Lalu Prasad Shaw
Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Lalu Prasad Shaw - Untitled - 25 x 20.5 inches Tempera on Board, 2015 Style : Known widely for his highly stylized portraits of Bengali women and couples, Lalu Prasad Shaw’s works lay the most emphasis on his subject’s physical characteristics. Capturing the expressions of his subjects perfectly with the greatest economy of line and colour each of Shaw’s paintings has an intimate feel to it. Influenced by the pre-independence Company School of art, the traditional Kalighat Pat and the Ajanta cave paintings, Shaw’s works, mainly executed in gouache or tempera, like his own person, are simple and graceful, having a very still, well-composed and smooth exterior. This senior artist draws his inspiration primarily from nature and the milieu surrounding the great Bengali middle class, often depicting pleasant and quiet scenes from his own life on his canvases and papers. His style is unique and modern in its adaptation of academic and traditional Indian formats. A particularly notable aspect of Shaw's paintings is their simple yet sophisticated look. One notices a seamless synthesis of different stylistic elements to achieve a phenomenal effect. About the Artist and his work : Born : 1937 in Bengal. Education : completed his education in fine arts at the Government College of Arts and Crafts in Kolkata. International Shows : 1970 - Second British Biennale in London; 1974 - Norwegian Print...

Biwi, Tempera on Board by Modern Indian Artist Lalu Prasad Shaw "In Stock"
By Lalu Prasad Shaw
Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Lalu Prasad Shaw - Biwi - 21 x 15 inches Tempera on Board, 2017 Style : Known widely for his highly stylized portraits of Bengali women and couples, Lalu Prasad Shaw’s works lay the most emphasis on his subject’s physical characteristics.

Swimming Pool Fun, Acrylic on Canvas, Red, Blue, by Indian Artist "In Stock"
By Farhad Hussain
Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Farhad Hussain - Swimming Pool Fun - 15 x 15 inches (unframed size) Acrylic on Canvas, 2020 Inclusive of shipment in roll form. Style: Farhad Hussain's colourful work that includes drawings and watercolours besides paintings on canvas, features day to day visual experiences of middle-class urban India. He endows his narrative with iconography and personality through his figuration, their posturing, dress and the surrounding imagery. The drama of subtle complexities of human relationships and social environment are grounded with a sense of satire mixed with pathos. Farhad’s colours help enhance the brightness and aura of his paintings while he also partakes elements from traditions such as the formulaic textile patterns of Indian miniatures. His compositions are often set in a familiar drawing room or a social space, playing out with humour and sarcasm, the narrative psychologies of human life and encounters at various levels. This young artist who has also experimented with sculpture has already carved a niche and an instantly recognizable individualistic style befitting his aesthetics and concerns. Farhad has chosen to use tempera on cloth for his works, the media allowing him to achieve the desired vibrancy of colours. A slow build-up of images and spontaneous flow of colour while balancing colour and composition simultaneously follow structured formatting. This meticulous planning in the composition and layout is the beginning of a process from where onwards it is very spontaneous and intuitive. Another technique used throughout Farhad’s work is the method of applying the colour: dot-by-dot till the entire area is completely covered. Various elements from miniature paintings, Kalighat paintings, Japanese prints and images from mass media are scrutinized, transformed and transferred on to the surface through the artists own style of expression. About the Artist and his works : Born: 1975 in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Education : 2003: B.F.A. in painting from Kala Bhavan, Visva Bharati University, Shantiniketan, 2005: M.F.A. in painting from M.S. University, Baroda.
