Artist John Jaster paints in a style he describes as realistic impressions, capturing colorful views of his adventures across the Americas. "People always ask me how I get such deep brilliant colors," says John. "The answer is layers. Since acrylic paint dries mostly transparent, it requires multiple layers of paint to build up to a specific color. With the right lighting that depth of layering is like sunshine glistening through clear water." In college, John felt a pull towards computer science and pursued a career in software architecture. A gentle touch, a delicate figure, a woman glows under a warm dappled ray of sunlight. "I especially enjoyed painting all of the beautiful colors in this scene," artist Sherri Aldawood says about capturing her model Alana, posing in a garden one spring morning.

About the Artist
Sherri Aldawood didn't intend to always paint flowers, but over time her love of gardens started to permeate her art. She focuses on the light and color of the flowers on the canvas. Sherri prefers alla prima, working with wet layers of paint instead of letting them dry. She keeps the paint as wet as possible by using walnut and clove oil to extend the drying time.

Artist Nava Lundy crafts impressionist paintings that radiate delicate feminine charm, characterized by romantic and textured elements. Focused on achieving depth and dimension, Nava applies impasto layers with a palette knife. With a touch of gold present in nearly all her pieces, her paintings shimmer with a luminous and dreamlike quality. "My goal is to have the viewer see the depth of color I see and to rethink the mundane by elevating it through the exploration of subtlety and turning up its volume at just the right points," says Nava. Her creative journey took a transformative turn at 16 when a teacher's encouragement led her to discover her artistic voice. She then pursued a BFA degree in painting. Nava works in her cluttered home studio, accompanied by her two dogs and occasionally music or podcasts. Beyond art, she spends quality time with her family and rescue hounds and enjoys her alone time in the morning with a strong cup of coffee and a workout.
