Two Flies on a Bentwood Chair: colorful rainbow pop art landscape Micheal Hurson
By Michael Hurson
Located in New York, NY
A colorful pop art drawing of a whimsical landscape scene featuring red flowers, green trees, yellow sun, and blue sky and clouds with cubist furniture on a front porch. Two flies converse over bentwood chairs drawn in black, red and white, in this whimsical work by famed New York artist Michael Hurson. Framed in white enamel. Paper 23.5 x 32.5 in. / 59.5 x 82.5 cm Frame 27 x 35 x 2 in. / 68.5 x 89 x 5 cm Two Flies on a Bentwood Chair by Michael Hurson. Lithograph on white paper with silkscreen on plexiglass, in a cream-colored lacquer frame. Edition 70: this impression 56/70. Signed by the artist with initials and numbered 56/70 in pencil lower right. Prepackaged and framed: ready to ship immediately, and ready to hang out of the box. This mixed-media lithograph with silkscreen portrays the colorful scene of a lush, sun-drenched front porch. Hurson's whimsical play on geometry and three-dimensionality is enhanced by the layers of plexiglass and paper upon which the image is printed. In the center of the composition, printed on the base layer of paper, a bright yellow sun sits atop a liquid, sky-blue background, and a jaunty, crayon-textured cloud. A porch door...

Phillips Screwdriver (Jim Dine 30 Bones of My Body portfolio) tool dry point
By Jim Dine
Located in New York, NY
The hand tool is undoubtedly Jim Dine’s most iconic motif. Meticulously catalogued in rows like scientific specimens or sketched individually, hammers, awls, brushes, saws and screwdrivers assume a visceral symbolism. Curvilinear handles evoke the contours of limbs or bones, and even metal points and blades seem organic under Dine’s thoughtful hand. In this series of dry point prints...

His work can be found in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Centre Pompidou; The Jewish Museum, New York; and the Nasher Sculpture Center among others. Courtesy of Susan Inglett Galery ABOUT CECIL TAYLOR Cecil Taylor (b. 1929) is a towering, sometimes divisive figure within twentieth-century music. In the early 1960s, with fellow maverick artists Ornette Coleman, Albert Ayler and others, he revolutionized jazz by extending bebop into a radical terrain dubbed the "New Thing" or "free jazz"—the latter a term with political as well as aesthetic connotations given the social changes underway at the time in America. For Taylor, freedom meant a deep synthesis of the modern composers such as Béla Bartók and Igor Stravinsky that he encountered during his studies at the New England Conservatory of Music with the nuanced and original piano innovations of Thelonious Monk, Horace Silver, Bud Powell...

Jeux Enquête - Choisissez vos Ennemis (Choose your Enemies) silkscreen signed/N
By Julio Le Parc
Located in New York, NY
Julio Le Parc Jeux Enquête - Choisissez vos Ennemis, 1970-2014 Screenprint on wove paper Hand signed, dated and numbered 46/50 in graphite by the artist on the front Published by Serpentine Galleries, UK Accompanied by official certificate of authenticity from the Serpentine as well as gallery issued Certificate of Guarantee Unframed The long sold out Limited Edition produced on the occasion of Julio Le Parc’s exhibition at the Serpentine Gallery in the UK is a silkscreen print of a dartboard, part of the playful installation Choisissez vos Ennemis (1970) from his Jeux Enquête series, which was featured in the show. This series was borne from the civil unrest in France and the events of May 1968. It depicts social archetypes of different ranks: the imperialist, the capitalist, the military, the intellectual neutral, the policeman, and the indifferent. Julio Le Parc was born in Mendoza, Argentina in 1928 and currently lives and works in Paris where he has resided since the late 1950s. In 1964 he was awarded the Special Prize (acquisition) in the Premio Internacional Torcuato Di Tella, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and in 1996, the International Painting Grand Prix at the XXXIII Venice Biennial, Italy. Following his expulsion from Paris in 1968, he travelled around various European countries only to return five months later when the restriction was revoked. Le Parc participated in Unofficial Latin America, held in Paris, and the Medellín Biennial in Colombia in 1970. Le Parc held his first solo exhibition at the Howard Wise Gallery, New York (1966), which was followed his first retrospective exhibition, held at the Instituto Di Tella in Buenos Aires, Argentina (1967). Subsequently Le Parc has held numerous retrospective exhibitions in major museums in Havana, Düsseldorf, Montevideo, Caracas, Asunción, Mexico City, Stockholm, Berlin, Madrid, Barcelona, Santiago de Chile, and Porto Alegre. His most recent solo exhibitions were held at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris (2013) and at the Daros Foundation (2014). Notable writings include: A propósito de arte espectáculo... (With regard to spectacle art...); Función social del arte en la sociedad contemporánea (The social function of art in contemporary society); Color 1959 (Colour 1959); and El artista en el context social actual (The artist in the present social context).
