Part of Joe Goode's five part 1960s series "Floating Cards". Rarely to market. The provenance of this print is from the Reese-Palley Gallery. The famous dealer and adventurer Reese Palley of Atlantic City New Jersey - was the second gallerist in the 1960s - after Paula Cooper - to set up shop in SOHO. Hand signed, dated, and annotated Artist's Proof aside from the regular edition. Pop art pioneer Joe Goode (born 1937) was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in 1937. In 1959 he moved to Los Angeles, California, where he attended the Chouinard Art Institute until 1961. Norman Akers was born and raised in Fairfax, Oklahoma. He is a member of the Osage Nation. He received a BFA in Painting from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1982, and a Certificate in Museum Studies from the Institute of American Indian Arts in 1983. In 1991, he received a MFA in Fine Arts from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Akers had solo exhibitions at the Lawrence Arts Center, Lawrence, Kansas, Jan Cicero Gallery in Chicago, Illinois, and the Gardner Art Gallery, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma. She is curious how different colors interact when they're placed next to each other. Within a digital medium she experiments with intensity of colors and the different sensations colors evoke. Why a circle? When she explores her fascination with this shape, she discovers that the circle represents all that is familiar and comforting. It is the shape of the rising sun, of a mother's nipple, of the iris of the eye, and of a full moon.

Shoreline Project was the first large scale immersive art experience launched in partnership with the Laguna Art Museum, in Laguna Beach, CA. The second venue was to be Vientienne, Laos, along the edge of the Mekong. Postponed by Covid-19, ET Projects reinvented and in 2020 and launched Project: “Look Up” in partnership with Mt. San Antonio Gardens. The images are of bold, resilient plants, each with a unique story of nature overcoming adversity.

ABOUT THIS PIECE: In her process-based studio practice, Anderson draws inspiration from the language of her materials, dripping and pouring on her surfaces before drawing and painting shapes overtop. She uses a variety of methods and materials to create her work, including ink, acrylic, cutting and pasting, airbrushing, digital methods, drawing, and projection. Sometimes her layers obscure her process, but often they’re evident through and between forms. Her work often evokes figures, landscapes and narrative through her explorations of form and colour. Together, these create an inventory of her visual vocabulary and memory.
