Raymond Loewy Inspired Green Chapter One Triple Dresser by Broyhill
By Raymond Loewy, Broyhill
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Broyhill’s Chapter One Collection is officially harder to find and more sought after than the Raymond Loewy originals. With all due respect to Raymond Loewy, there really is something magical about the Chapter One line. Maybe they’re just more fun and approachable. Maybe it’s the proportions and practicality. Regardless, they’re one of our favourite collections of all time. This tall stack of sunburst yellow drawers looks like LEGO come time life. Exciting, bold yet practical, these deep drawers can hold heaps of stuff.
The restoration team pulled no punches on this Chapter One Green Dresser, and the end result exceeded our expectations. The entire body and base was professionally sanded, primed and painted to match the original bright white. The laminate top and dark lime green molded plastic drawer fronts were finally buffed and polished to a glassy shine. It’s tough to see this one go, but we know it will be loved. Broyhill’s Chapter one collection borrowed from the plastic mold injection designs made famous by legendary designer Raymond Loewy. Like Loewy, this Chapter One Green Dresser employs the futuristic use of color and materials in a way that had not been seen before. The bright green plastic captures the playful spirit of the 1970s. The cabinet is supported by a white lacquered, curved plinth base that compliments the overall form of the dresser. Nine drawers roll-out on metal glides that have been adjusted and oiled to allow for easy functionality, and proper spacing. This colorful, curvaceous case-good could have blended in nicely on the set of 2001 A Space Odyssey. The space-age look has never been more desirable, which may help explain the recent scarcity of all things Chapter One.
Complete your green Chapter one bedroom set with the high dresser and nightstand (sold separately). We also have matching pieces including a yellow double dresser, yellow nightstand...

By Broyhill, Raymond Loewy
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Vintage 1970s Space Age green and white Broyhill Chapter One highboy dresser. The 1970s era Chapter One collection was Broyhill’s playful re-imagining of Raymond Loewy’s work for French, brand DF200. Exciting, bold yet practical, these deep drawers can hold heaps of stuff. We have a matching low dresser and nightstand as well as several yellow Chapter One pieces. Inquire if you are interested in buying any of the other pieces and need group pricing.
The restoration team pulled no punches on this Chapter One green highboy dresser, and the end result exceeded our expectations. Large Raymond Loewy Inspired Yellow Chapter One Gentlemans Chest Armoire
By Ettore Sottsass, Raymond Loewy, Broyhill
Located in Chattanooga, TN
This model is nearly impossible to find. Moreover, yellow is the most sought after option. Combined with the fact that we've restored this piece to outstanding condition, we're certain you WILL NOT find a more sublime rendition.
Broyhill’s Chapter One Collection is officially harder to find and more sought after than the Raymond Loewy orginals. With all due respect to Raymond Loewy, there really is something magical about the Chapter One line. Maybe they’re just more fun and approachable. Maybe it’s the proportions and practicality. Regardless, they’re one of our favourite collections of all time. The restoration team pulled no punches on this Chapter One Yellow Highboy Dresser, and the end result exceeded our expectations. Every inch of painted wood (including base) was professionally sanded primed and painted to match the original bright white. The laminate top and canary yellow molded plastic door / drawer fronts were finally buffed and polished to a glassy shine. Unlike the traditional Chapter One Highboy, this "Gentleman's Chest" version is step up in style and function. The open cabinet space on the left features a removable and adjustable height shelf, painted in gloss white of course. The right side has two hinged doors that open to reveal an additional (3) drawers. These also sport the signature white facades, and open / close with ease on the ball-bearing metal tracks. This dresser was built like a tank, but looks like a Lamborghini. It’s tough to see this one go, but we know it will be loved.

1960's Danish Teak Highboy Chest Dresser With Carved Oval Recessed Pulls
By Børge Mogensen, Kai Kristiansen, Poul Volther
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Just look at the matched pattern grain drawer fronts on this early Danish highboy. The fiery cathedrals cover all 7-drawers and showcase the use of the natural elements to compliment the Scandinavian design. This chest is an exemplary specimen of Danish cabinet making. Tightly dovetailed drawers, beautiful teak wood and easy gliding drawers are hallmarks of the superior craftsmanship. There is no particle board anywhere. Instead we see solid pine wood, covered in thick teak...

Perfect for the Mid-Century Modern collector or the interior designer looking for the perfect piece to make a room look complete and finished. These authentic and original Brasilia pieces are always in such high demand. In addition they are commonly copied these days by so many faker makers (there is one West Coast modern...

Restored Drexel Avenues Burl Wood & Brass Hollywood Regency Campaign Dresser
By James Mont, Kittinger Furniture Company, Drexel
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Beautifully figured burl wood Drexel Avenues campaign dresser. Offered by Drexel from their “Avenues” line of interior furnishings. The dresser is as functional as it is beautiful. There’s is no want for storage with this ample twelve drawer dresser. If you’re keen on quality than look no further. It almost sounds trite to say “they don’t make em like this anymore.” but in this case, it’s entirely true. The fact is, old growth wood like this simply is not readily available anymore. A contemporary furniture waker would be hard pressed to find specimens as richly grained as we see here. The elaborate, marbled burl grain is a key design element on the Avenues series. Drexel’s craftspeople took special care to select the finest materials and apply the wood perfectly with book matched grain. The drawer facades are embellished with a circular brass pulls. The golden coin shaped pulls hang elegantly like jewelry. Though simple in it’s silhouette, the dresser has elements of Hollywood Regency, campaign, and Asian Modern styles. The dresser top surface has been professionally refinished. We have a pair of matching Drexel Avenues mirrors available, sold separate. Let us know if you’re interested in the mirrors.
Restoration:
This dresser was purchased in very good condition but that didn’t stop us from improving their overall appearance. Our team refinished the top and detailed the piece inside and out. Touched up and elevated while preserving the vintage charm. It’s a delicate process that we continue to improve and innovate on each piece that comes into our fold.
About Drexel:
World War II was hard on most furniture manufacturers, but Drexel Furniture was fortunate to land a government contract to supply office furniture for state side army offices. At the conclusion of the war, Drexel employees hand crafted a walnut desk inlaid with stars and his name in marble for General Douglas MacArthur...

Walnut Broyhill Brasilia Magna Dresser Highboy Armoire by Oscar Niemeyer
By Oscar Niemeyer, Broyhill Brasilia
Located in Chattanooga, TN
This "Magna" dresser was delicately restored to preserve the original patina. The Brasilia line has elevated to a high-end status that has made these pieces very sought after and subsequently harder to find. We love this line and have never seen two pieces that look identical. Not only because of the variations in walnut grain, but the way that they age. We did our absolute best to recondition this armoir while preserving the rich, oily patina. The top was professionally refinished by our in-house cabinet shop to match the original and untouched sections. We're certain you won't be able to tell the difference. It's a delicate balancing act to maintain originality while also recondition issues that need improvement. It's a process we are continuing to perfect. Otherwise detailed top to bottom, inside and out. The metal tracks have been oiled to make sure the drawers open effortlessly. We're certain you won't find a more sublime example of this dresser anywhere.

Renzo Rutili for John Stuart 3-Piece Checker Parquet Campaign Style Credenza
By Johnson Furniture Company, Renzo Rutili, John Stuart Inc.
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Stately. No other word best represents this exceptional Renzo Rutili credenza / dresser. The fusion of British Colonial, Far East, Regency and Modern create a distinctive harmony, rarely found in such tasteful proportions. Versatility abound. Imagine how elegant this would look in a hall entry.
Both chests can be arranged in opposite positions (facing either direction) atop the solid walnut bench. Finished on both sides, these cabinets proudly showcase a stacked bay of brass accented regal drawers. Contrasting yet complimentary in their checkered parquet assemblage of various exotic wood veneers. The pulls lock in patinated brass plates that have acquired a hammered appearance over the decades. No better place to store your treasures of the Orient.
Every inch was delicately restored by our in-house cabinet shop. We use a light touch to remove imperfections, without taking away any charm or patina. We restore with the intentions of maintaining authenticity and character. Our pieces look well-preserved, not "refinished". Minor imperfections may remain noticeable up-close, but the overall presentation will be estimable. We encourage you to examine our photos closely and please reach out to us with any questions or concerns.
Manufactured by Johnson Furniture for John Stuart Inc. of New York and designed by Renzo Rutili.
