Encinillas Ranch

Country House by Sofia Aspe Interiorismo in Lomas de Casablanca, MX

The project involved turning the old house of the manager of the hacienda into an upscale building that integrated the exterior and interior with a unified concept. A very Mexican XVIII c. style with a touch of English luxury. The contrast between the fabrics brought from London, and rustic, antique patterns, was a very fortunate combination. And rebuilding a Mexican traditional kitchen, rarely seen these days, made our mouths water.

Sofia Aspe Interiorismo worked in partnership with the decorator Jose Luis Bernal, whose thoroughness and good taste made the difference. All objects have their place and their time. Finding what´s just right is a priority in all my projects, and this ranch is a great example: recognizing the right wall for a taxidermy trophy, the best table for the cigars and the perfect rack for an antique sombrero.

The firm was especially interested in the ruins and the stables because they show how we can do interior design in places where everything is outdoors, even though this might seem like a contradiction.
