From the series "Resistance and Alchemical Metals"
The artwork is realized poeticly, with an exclusive title that refers to the socio-political context, and the application of limited color of metals" various copper, gold, silver, bronze" have metaphorical features of alchemy. In this series artist took positions, and gestures of revolutionary and rebellious bodies on the battlefield of revolution and transformed them dynamically into precious sources of resistance by spiritual transitions of colors akin to alchemy, meat, and blood found their symbolic meaning through colors and expressive brushstrokes, metals here refer to bodies of freedom seekers, shapable, flexible, shiny and a source of strength, that highlights how a body becomes a battlefield, a golden source of sacrifice, a silver font of resistance, copper as blood in fighting for freedom.
What makes this series unique: it is deeply behind the dynamic emotion of each gestural figure, in a minimalistic manner, and the vigorous and unbridled energy of brushstrokes, is raw, spontaneous, and emotionally charged.
Her works in this series challenge oppression and gender-related issues by applying oriental brushstrokes of calligraphy in ink as a primary tool, to fragile subjects.
Parimah Avani, born in 1988 in Tehran, Iran, is a multidisciplinary artist and a recognized figure in contemporary hermetic Persian literature and the avant-garde "Other" movement. Her book, "Magic Verses of Antalus," was a finalist for the prestigious "Shamlou" Award. Her most recent achievement is winning an art competition for a scholarship from Werkstatt Plettenberg in Germany, culminating in a solo exhibition held at the Gallery of the German Bank of Sparkasse. Avani's artistic journey began with travels to China and Russia during her formative years, oriental philosophies, particularly Zen and Buddhism, and folk arts ignited her passion for comparative mythology evident in her archaic style. In 2009, she moved to Rome, Italy to study multimedia art, and gained a Master’s in painting at the Fine Art Academy of Rome. Immersed in cultural parallels between East and West, mythological themes transcend boundaries in art, exploring magic and ancient scripts inspired by the scholarly insights of Frazer and Eliade on rituals. During the summer of 1948 in the Cape Cod Massachusetts artists’ colony of Provincetown, Stillman’s experiments with such techniques led to a unique drawing process. Using an inkless pen, or some such tool, the artist impressed the paper with invisible scribbles, which only emerged as white lines when he rubbed a flat stick of charcoal or pastel across the surface. These evocative, subtly modulated, works on paper are sophisticated, yet little known, examples of Abstract Expressionist art. He imbued his abstractions with a glowing atmospheric quality that derives from both impressionism and the Old Testament concept of divine light. He subsequently adapted this technique to the graphic arts, experimenting in the early 1950s with color lithograph and woodcut print techniques.

David Gilhooly RCA (1943 – 2013), was an American ceramicist, sculptor, painter, printmaker, and professor. He is best known for pioneering the Funk art movement. He made a series of ceramic frogs called FrogWorld, as well as ceramic food, planets, and other creatures.
David James Gilhooly III was born on April 15, 1943, in Auburn, California. He was raised in Los Altos, California; Saint Croix in the Virgin Islands; and Humacao, Puerto Rico.
He enrolled in University of California, Davis (UC Davis) initially studying biology, followed by anthropology, and ending with a focus on fine art. While attending UC Davis, Gilhooly served as artist Robert Arneson assistant starting in 1963. He graduated from UC Davis with a BA degree in 1965, and an MA degree in 1967.

The artwork is expressively and poetically created, the well-applied dry and watery strokes represent gestural revolutionary figures in a minimalistic manner in a miniature style of composition. which makes this series unique: it is deeply behind the dynamic emotion of each gestural figure, four colors here have metaphorical features; pink as woman, yellow as hope, silvery as resistance, and red as blood. another aspect that stands out in this art is the vigorous and unbridled energy of brushstrokes. Her Series could be described as raw, spontaneous, and emotionally charged. Gestures are a powerful and thought-provoking commentary on social and political issues.
The panoramic lines inspired by Persian calligraphy, here have an exclusive sense of narration harmoniously. The style of Persian calligraphy and knowledge of poetry let her make a visual poem in an expressionistic style, congruent with the poetic title, the use of space and maintaining an empty background and foreground intentionally have been made to emphasize the solitude and loneliness of gestural figures and at the same time connect to oriental calligraphy.
