BERND HAUSSMANN born in Tübingen, Germany, in 1957. He studied at the Merz Akademie. He has been a US resident since 1994.

His work is in the manner of Abstract Expressionism. Particularly the Provincetown school of Hans Hoffmann, Helen Frankenthaler, Nell Blaine, Lee Krasner, Joan Mitchell, Gerome Kamrowski etc.
Haussmann exhibits nationally and internationally, in galleries and non-profit venues. His work has also been visible at numerous art fairs such as Art Hong Kong, San Francisco Art Fair, Art Santa Fe, Texas Contemporary, Dallas Art Fair, Miami Project, Toronto International Art Fair, Los Angeles Art Show, Art Miami, and others.
Hausmann works are in many corporate collections and in a number of museum collections including:

He engages in interactive projects and collaborations such as "Video Sonic Project" with the Media Institute of the University of Tuebingen; "Darwin's Coral - One Ocean Project", a collaborative exhibit with OneWorldOneOcean; "The Third Image", a photo project with Rick Ashley; "The Nucleus Project" with Werner Trotter; White-Out in collaboration with Mote Marine, Conor Goulding, in Sarasota, FL "Sea Debris Awareness Through Art"; and others.
He engages scientists in a non-verbal dialogue, "Dialogues", at the Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT; participates in transatlantic exhibitions such as "KunstTraject langs de Leie", Belgium, and "Art in Embassies", Brussels; creates site-specific exhibitions such as at the ballroom of the Goethe Institute Boston; and more. Haussmann also enjoys the exchange with fellow artists and students. He has been a mentor and educator at Lesley University, Art Institute of Boston, and at New Hampshire Institute of Art; and since 2014 has been offering courses at the Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill, Truro; the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, Provincetown; and the Montserrat College of Art, Beverly.
"Conceptual art has more and more become an academic art, for people who don’t know how to make even academic art, and race, gender, and AIDS continue to elicit their quota of high-minded, self-righteous work. What light-years it seems from the huge ambitions– spiritual, formal, or rawly ego-driven –of a Kasimir Malevich, a Piet Mondrian, a Jackson Pollock, a Richard Serra, even a Julian Schnabel". Haussmann was the artist-in-residence at the Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT (2012-2015.)

He was born in New York City and studied at the Art Students League and the Brooklyn Museum Art School. Pellicone's early work was influenced by the Social Realist movement of the 1930s and 1940s, with his paintings often featuring realistic depictions of urban scenes and working-class people. However, in the 1950s he shifted towards abstraction, exploring the interplay of color and form. Pellicone's mature style was characterized by his use of vibrant, saturated colors, often applied in thick layers of paint. His paintings often featured geometric shapes and organic forms, with a strong sense of movement and energy. In addition to his painting, Pellicone was also a respected teacher and arts administrator. He taught at the New York Institute of Technology and the State University of New York, and served as the director of the Islip Art Museum on Long Island. Pellicone's artwork was exhibited widely during his lifetime, and he was the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including a National Endowment for the Arts grant in 1977. Today, his paintings can be found in the collections of museums and galleries around the world, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C. and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

Untitled No 63, abstract composition 1987
Mixed media on wood panel, wax, oil, paper. signed with initials, gallery label.
Abstract painter Michael David is best known for his use of encaustic, a technique that incorporates heated beeswax and pigment. Considered an inheritor of Abstract Expressionism, David’s abstract work primarily centers on the use of a densely layered surface to facilitate a direct and immediate spiritual experience. He often incorporates religious iconography and symbolism, art historical themes such as the nude, and contemporary politics into his paintings resulting in a critical dialogue between the layered abstraction of the surface and the integrated representational imagery. Alongside his work on canvas, David has developed a body of studio photography that recreates paintings by Caravaggio, Manet, and Mantegna, among others, in works that confront racism, homophobia, and sexism. David also works in mixed media and environmental sculpture...
