"Compline is a recent piece, a work honoring New England. It is a culmination of what I developed and experienced from those decades painting and trekking through the northeast in the 70s to the 90s, and what I have discovered from moving through different styles and periods of my work. It is one of humble expression of gratitude to America and the American impressionists."
As an American artist, Wright’s travels have taken him to paint and/or teach throughout the United States and visiting over a dozen National Park sites in addition to Italy, France, Ireland, Austria, England, West Indies, Central and South America, and China. His work focuses on the Preservation and Progress of Impressionism.

Dmitri Wright
Dmitri Wright’s artistic lineage stems from the American Impressionists. His mentors have been Samuel Brecher, who studied under Charles W. Hawthorne the founder of the Cape Cod Art School. Hawthorne was a student of William Merritt Chase. Donald Brown an expressionist influenced Wright to accept the Max Beckman International Scholarship at the Brooklyn Museum Art School where he then studied under Rueben Tam; and at Cooper Union he studied under Wolf Kahn and Will Barnet. Legacy: As an American artist, Wright’s travels have taken him to paint and/or teach throughout the United States and visiting over a dozen National Park sites in addition to Italy, France, Ireland, Austria, England, West Indies, Central and South America, and China. His work focuses on the Preservation and Progress of Impressionism. Collections: Wright’s work is housed in hundreds of collections. Museums: National Art Museum of Sport, Newark Museum, Brooklyn Museum. Corporate: Time Warner, Sloan Kettering, AT&T, Wells Fargo Bank, Pitney Bowes, Verizon, Connecticut Water Co. Private collectors throughout New England and East Coast; and International -Japan, Italy, China. Nelson H. White was born in New London, Connecticut in 1932. White has been surrounded by art and artists from the time he was born. He received his earliest art instruction from his grandfather, Henry Cooke White (1861-1952) and his father Nelson Cooke White (1900-1989), both important American artists. The family lived in Waterford, Connecticut and the elder White had been an early member of the art colony in Old Lyme, Connecticut. Known for his paintings of the Connecticut landscape and shoreline, Henry Cooke White became a teacher to his son, Nelson Cooke White. Living with his parents at the Florence Griswold house in Old Lyme, he met some of the most important and influential artists of the day, Childe Hassam, Will Howe Foote and Harry Hoffman.

Kelly Carmody has exhibited at venues including the Portrait Society of America and the Art Students League. Most recently, she was selected for the 2015 BP Portrait Award Show at the National Portrait Gallery in London and the 2016 Outwin Boochever Award at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington D.C. In addition, the historic Guild of Boston Artists elected her to become a member in 2015, she won the Edmund C. Tarbell Award in her first juried members show. The winning portrait is on the cover of July/August edition of Fine Art Connoisseur. In June of 2015 she received the Blanche E. Colman Award. She was invited to exhibit in the 2016 American Masters show at the Salmagundi Club.
She currently has work at the Sloane Merrill Gallery in Boston, the Guild of Boston Artists, and the Ann Long Gallery in Charleston, SC. Publications that have featured her work include American Art Collector, Fine Art Connoisseur, International Artist Magazine, Fine Art Today, Southwest Art, Studio Visit Magazine, Boston Magazine, and The Boston Globe. Maryann Lucas lives and works in Sag Harbor. She is primarily self-taught but has also received instruction and support from wonderful and generous members of the East End artistic community. Working exclusively in oils, Lucas sets out almost daily to create plein aire landscapes and seascapes. In her studio, she works directly from life and captures the beauty of natural light as it transforms ordinary objects into visual delights.
Lucas wants her work to celebrate all that is well with this world and brilliant in this life, despite its pockets of darkness.
For me, she says, I know I am in the Presence of something beautiful, when it steals my breath, silences my mind, pushes out everything else and draws me in. I trust That. I use That to guide my hands as I arrange a still life or scan a landscape to determine where to set down my easel. Ultimately, That is what drives me to paint.
