Colorful red, teal, and orange modern abstract impressionist landscape painting by Cuban artist Illeana Mulet Batista. The work features multiple buildings in a town center rendered in her signature loose brushwork. Signed, titled, and dated in front lower right corner. Currently hung in a silver decorative frame.

Artist Biography: Illeana Mulet Batista was born in Holguin, Cuba in 1952. She studied Fine Arts at the San Alejandro Academy of Fine Arts and graduated with a specialty in Interior Design for Tourism, Cafeterias and Restaurants and in Costume Design with a specialty for Cuban Television. Both a painter and a poet, she is best known for her expressive language, loaded with the historical theme of the colonial city that she openly recreates in her work. Today she considers herself the initiator of this current in Cuba and a pointer for the new generations that deal with landscape painting.
In 1991 she traveled to Spain and exhibited in Palma de Mallorca, thus beginning a succession of continuous trips where she placed her work in private collections and museums around the world. Furthermore, in 2000 she exhibited De la Habana a la Arauca, a combination of poems and paintings made in the exhibition hall of the Escuela de Bellas Artes de la Arauca, in the Republic of Colombia as well as Amo la Piedra at the Palacio de los Capitanes Generales, in which she combined poems and paintings in the framework of the Havana Biennial.
